Okochi Sanso Gorge Observation Deck — Attraction in Kyoto

Extremely beautiful vantage point that is a must. I would argue that this place is more breathtaking than the bamboo forest down the hill. Just requires a short uphill climb (10 mins) and you'll be rewarded to much less crowds, a quieter space to yourself and beautiful autumn colours of the mountains that surround you. I would recommend you to come during sunset and stay for an hour or so to watch the colours dance and change in front of your eyes. There are a few observation decks located about 50m apart from each other - so do check them out because each one of them offers a slightly different angle to admire the rolling hills around you.
