I had an amazing experience at this knife shop in Japan. The selection of high-quality kitchen knives is outstanding, with options ranging from traditional carbon steel to beautifully crafted Damascus blades. Whether you’re a professional chef or just passionate about cooking, you’ll find something exceptional here. A special thanks to Magui and Roy for their outstanding service. Their knowledge about Japanese knives, blade types, steel composition, and proper care is truly impressive. They patiently answered all my questions and helped me choose the perfect knife for my needs. Their warm and professional approach made the entire experience even more memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic, handcrafted Japanese knives and top-tier customer service.

I had an amazing experience purchasing a Nakiri knife from Alice at the Musashi knife store in Nara, Japan. The craftsmanship of the knife is absolutely outstanding—razor sharp, beautifully balanced, and a joy to use in the kitchen. Alice was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind, walking me through the different options and helping me find the perfect knife to suit my needs. Her passion for the craft truly shines through. This is more than just a kitchen tool—it’s a piece of art. Highly recommend both the store and Alice for anyone looking for a high-quality Japanese knife and exceptional customer service!

The stylish interior, lined with beautiful knives, resembles an art museum. Watching the craftsmen at work offers a unique glimpse into the artistry behind these fine tools. The staff are young, cool, and fluent in English, making it a welcoming place for international visitors. The option to customize your knife adds a personal touch that is truly special.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS: The knives here are extremely overpriced, and you won’t find anyone shopping besides unsuspecting tourists. I stopped in last minute to grab a wedding gift for a friend and ended up paying $271 USD for a knife that isn’t worth more than $80.

To make matters worse, the guy assured me the engraving would cut through the black part of the blade and look cool—so I went for it. Turns out he had never used the engraving machine before 🙃.

The final result was a burnt brown, ugly engraving that looks more like a mistake than a meaningful gift. And of course, once it’s engraved, it’s non-refundable. Really wish he had the decency to tell me that upfront.

PS: They give out free incense if you leave a Google review, explains all the 5 star ratings. Plus the guy work there took the phone out of my hand to type his name. Really unprofessional.

Worst experience in my 3 years...
