Nijiiro Melon — Restaurant in Nara

I got 3 melon pans: Chocolate chip and banana Plain melon pan Maple melon pan

To be honest, the breads are pretty good especially if you like melon pans or have never tried it and want to try it.

These are way better than the ones you get at a convenience store (just fyi).

But it does have a strong taste. Out of the 3 breads I got. The maple was my least favorite flavor for this reason. But Perfect for walking around and eating or taking home and eating.

Also if you love conchas (Mexican style pan) then you will like these. When I miss Mexican style sweet breads I come here and get some pans and make some champurrado at home and it hits.

I just hate that I have to walk around downtown Nara city just to get these. The crowds can get annoying sometimes especially on weekends. But Nara city is always...

Great melon pan shop! It is a little sweet, but even so, it is delicious. They warm the melon pan up when you order it, so if you get ice cream with it, it will be even better. The ice cream comes in several flavors, all of which are great, and can be bought as a soft serve cone as well. The flavored melon pan is good, with my favorites being the matcha, earl grey, and chocolate chip. Also, they often have sales where you get a few yen off a coffee if you buy a melon pan. I bought their plain melon pan and left quite disappointed. I've had melon pan a couple times before now from quite "known" shops and they weren't as sweet, sugary and grainy as this one was. There are even sugar grains stuck on the top of the melon pan which is definitely not needed in regards to the sweetness it already has.
