It was a very strange experience because the hotel is brand new, well placed, rooms are great (not the sound insulation as the hotels low budget in general in japan) but when you dig up it is really not clean, I found an old underwear of a girl under my bed, the ground of the bathroom was dirty, my bed as grosses traces. Nobody to change my bed or take my trashes during my stay. And the most important thing there is nobody, they open the rooms at 15h.. !? So late, not good for a hotel. But you can put your stuffs in the main room of the hotel, this is totally not controlled so not safe I think. Because there nobody in this hotel, everybody have to manage themselves their séjour. This is completely unbelievable. I leave this morning and due to the fact there is nobody at all I think, a guy stole my f.. shoes... So this hotel is new, cheap but do not wait services, something or somebody. I advice you to arrive after 15h in order to sécure your stuff and take car about your shoes :)))) we can see that the owner is not japanese it is my personnal thought because it would be cleaner with persons, services and control. This...
Read moreBe prepare for the self service check in,
You might be confusing when you check in. There is no receptionist between 2 and 6 PM. One of the long staying guest volunteered to help out the check in procedure but he might also be out of the place.
You are supposed to pick up the name card with your name and room number from the card holder at the reception desk. Then pick up the key with the figure of the room number in a key box next to the card folder and go directly to your room.
In case of having a reservation at a dormitory, you might not find your key in the key box. Never mind. Your roommates may have already taken the key. Go directly to your room.
If you have trouble getting in your room, you do not have to stand still at the reception for a volunteer to turn himself up. Settle back on the sofa at the living room and have a cup of tee or cafe at the kitchen.
There is only a few employee and they work both for deer hostel and Mini in Nara at the same time. That’s the reason for frequent absence of receptionist.
Be patient...
Read moreWe stayed here one night, and booked a private room to have a little more comfort. When we arrived at the hostel it looked really promising, the enterance is nicely decorated. Once in the room, we were very dissapointed. There was hair everywhere on the floor, there were used tissues behind the bed, there was a used bandaid on the floor. In the bathroom there was still hair in the drain and in the tub.. The matresses were covered in hairs. I dont mind making my own bed but it is not very inviting when there is someone elses hairs all over it! We adressed this at the front desk i have to give credit because the girl at the front desk sincerely apologized and quickly vacuümed the room floor but it was still not really clean afterwards. We paid a resonable price to stay a private room. I really dont expect much, but to have someone elses hair all over the room just really puts me off. Apart from that, staff was nice and the common area/lobby was...
