You have always seen those fresh fish markets that Japan has been famous for, and they really do not disappoint at all.
Take a short walk around the entire container focused on seafoods and you can see a huge variety of treasures of the sea at a very decent and local price; if you are a tourist, you are going to be stuck here for a long time having a tough time choosing what to NOT buy!
Take for example their box of super fresh and quality nigiri, even with the maguro a set of 8 different sushi is only probably a fraction of the price back home. I had it in the cold rain of January and it felt like I was eating the sushi while at sea eating the catch right out from the ocean.

Read moreWhat a great little find in Niigata. Featuring fresh seafood and cooked delights, this is an excellent stop for the foodie in you! There are numerous shops and restaurants available with everything from alcohol to desserts and everything in between.
There is even a reservation bbq area where you'll be able to cook any produce you get at the shops.
