了仙寺附属博物館です。了仙寺の敷地に入る手前右手にあります。 入口入ってすぐに印象的なペリーの絵があり、売店はおしゃれなものが取り揃えられており、お土産におすすめです。入ってすぐに黒船シアターという映像設備があり、3種類の動画が約30分流れています。この動画がとても優秀で、この動画を観てから館内を回ると理解が深まるでしょう。長すぎると思わずに、時間をとってゆっくりご覧ください。小学生で歴史好きならば、男子でも飽きずに観ることができます。 黒船や開国の資料を3000点以上を収蔵展示。肉筆画や版画、古地図が大半を占めます。写真が残されているものも多く、より理解が深まります。 入場料500円は高いという声があるのですが、充分価値があると我が家は思いました。

It's a 2 room museum. The artefacts on display are interesting, but there's not much there and some of the exhibits don't have an English translation. Staff will play an English version of the information film for you on request, which was good. The gift shop is as big as the actual museum.

I would have liked to have had more history and context. The topic of Japan's isolation and opening to the west is interesting and there's much more...
