This was by far one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at! It’s a family-run business with the owners caring so much about making every guest feel welcome, safe and comfortable. The dorm we stayed in was extremely clean and the shared bath was cleaned everyday.

The view from the dorm room but also the shared spaces was even more amazing as it looks on the pictures. The location is also really nice because it’s a quiet neighbourhood, you can reach the beautiful beaches nearby easily by bike but also walk into the town for supermarkets, restaurants, izakayas and more.

The common room was a great place to hang out and we met a bunch of incredibly kind and funny people who were also staying at the guesthouse.

We could rent out bikes and snorkelling goggles for free, use the shared kitchen and ask the owners for advice whenever we needed to. They truly go the extra mile and are one of the kindest people I met. You can also message them on Instagram to book directly.

Thank you for the...

This is a comfortable guesthouse with amazing sea view - but only with the right crowd. Don’t get me wrong the guesthouse is really all you need, providing you with clean rooms and beds, in unit bathroom in each dorm, toiletries from combs to toothbrushes, free bicycle rental, surfboards etc etc (although no towel). But the rooms are actually quite tight considering this guesthouse is always full and very popular in Shimoda (possibly because of the high prices of hotels). Was there when groups of people were moving in and out and it was a rather rowdy place. Guests didn’t adhere to the quiet hours and sleeping in close proximity with people who snored (2-3 in my room) was not fun. Group of friends hogged the bathroom, were not interested in others than their clique. Other guests appeared surly with one girl pretending I was invisible in the common area. That said the staff were wonderful and lovely, and were.a breath of fresh air. Always smiling and did a good job...

We are a family of 4 who stayed 6 nights during June in the family room with 4 beds and a wonderful view over the bay. The guesthouse is run by a very kind and generous young couple who do everything in their power to make the guests' stay as convenient as possible. The place is renovated, well organised and kept very clean. There is a lot of information about Shimoda, and different equipments and facilities are made available for different kinds of activities. The kitchen and the common space for dining, hanging and socializing is furnished tastefully and it also has a nice view over the bay. We met a lot of interesting people with whom we had a wonderful barbecue evening together with the hosts. I would recommend this place 100% to anyone visiting Shimoda. Our whole family is already...

A paradise-like place with outstanding hospitality provided by the owners. The guesthouse exceeded my expectations when I opened my room’s door and saw an emerald Pacific Ocean bay through the window (where I eventually practiced Standup Paddle Board - SUP - available for renting). The 2-bed room has a good size, comfortable beds, and a compact - yet appropriate - bathroom. I also highlight the general cleanliness of the entire place, the well-equipped kitchen, the good vibe of the shared space, and the convenience of the bicycles available to guests. “All you need” is a place to lay back, practice sports, and get in touch with the coastal side of Japan. I hope to get back someday.

Absolutely phenominal stay!! The GuestHouse is comfortable, full of charm, and is extremely clean. Yuki is wildly hospitable and generous. He went out if his way multpitle times to make sure we were cared for, and was flexible when we needed to extend our stay another night. His English is great and we never had difficulty communicating with him. The GuestHouse is nicely situated between town and the ocean, with a great view. It was too cold to swim but there is lots of equipment available to play in the water. Bikes are available to get a little further faster. We loved our stay and would definitly stay again!
