Tucked away just off Perry Street SOULBAR TOSAYA is part bar, part retro vinyl time capsule. The frozen cocktails alone are worth the visit, especially the Pina Colada, which came out looking like it crashed a tropical costume party with a full sized banana attached.
70s soul—played on VHS, and Old TVs really sets the atmosphere and we enjoyed playing cards at the table.
It was disappointing that we couldn’t sit at the bar because the seats were reserved, despite being there over an hour they were never occupied and another couple from Chiba was also denied a seat. Still, the vibe, drinks, and musical nostalgia made it a good visit.
