Ukiyoe Gallery — Attraction in Takayama

It used to be an art gallery but has been converted to a 2-storey accommodation. On arrival, we were received by a gentleman who spent some time to show us around and how to use the facilities. Ground floor is where the living area, toilets, baths, laundry area, home theatre and kitchen are located. There are 2 rooms upstairs to accommodate a total of 4. The whole place is very ornate and beautiful. There is a large bathtub with a view of the small courtyard. Location is excellent; very close to the shopping area and restaurants, but not near the train station. Carpark is located 5-10 min walking distance away. Do note that they do not allow luggage to be rolled over the tatami on the floors. And you have to keep the volume of the home theatre...

Most unique lodging experience for me and my wife. The rooms are tastefully decorated with ukiyo-e art works and all the equipments (bath, shower, toilet) are modern and top notch.
