Despite all the raving reviews I'm probably in the minority with my opinion, but hear me out. I tried the third expensive variety, dry ramen with A5 Hida beef for 2400y. The service was excellent, efficient and friendly. You order with a ticket machine and there is are japanese and English descriptions. The bowl was served and it looked amazing. Thick chewy noodles with the right bite, a creamy coating when you mix it with the poached egg and a slightly spicy, peppery flavor. But the beef, - despite being tender and cooked just right - had a weird, sour taste. I'm aware that there can be various reasons for that, for example wet aging or acidic soil with grass fed cows, but for beef in that price range I expect everything , nutty, fatty, buttery, etc. but no sour taste. Maybe just bad luck, maybe that's normal for this kind of beef, I don't know. But that's the reason for the low rating. Really nice place but the beef is definitely not worth the...
Read moreMe and my husband dined there yesterday. We came to the place about 5 minutes before the 2nd opening, and there was a line of people already, waiting to get in and dine. Luckily we were able to enter, along with the other customers without waiting for others to finish their meal. We made the order via the machine, and handed the meal tickets to the stuff. I've found that really convenient, as it saves time, effort, staff, and passes the language barrier. We sat at the bar, and we're able to see our meal in the making. It was interesting to watch, how efficient they work. The food was really yummy and warming! I took the hida beef soba, and my husband enjoyed the wild boar dish. Both were excellent! I really liked how the broth complimented the meat! The portion was just the right size! Thank you!
P.s: if you are visiting the place, please be mindful of other customers, and upon finishing you meal, give your seat to the next customers...
Read moreWe went here after having no luck anywhere else on the evening of the spring Gifu festival and were really happy that we landed here by coincidence. Two of my group even had the spicy version, which actually were kinda spicy. The staff was super kind and asked if we wanted a picture taken. They didn’t really speak English, but we still were able to communicate and they were very welcoming to foreigners. Really...
