Went here on a Monday afternoon, tons of people and small children who didn't know how to handle or care for animals. The living conditions of these animals were absolutely disgusting to say the least, they had extremely small CAGES, I wouldn't even call them enclosures.
The staff allowed the reptiles to be held out of their cages and handed them to small children who got scared when they were holding the bearded dragon and dropped it onto the floor (not necessarily the child's fault but just disappointing to see the staff give such a precious reptile to a child who doesn't know any better). Worst of all was the larger room (which was still immensely small) which housed meerkats (from africa), patagonian maras (from argentina/chile), ring-tailed lemurs (from madagascar), squirrel monkeys (from central and south america), capybara (from central and south america), and a random tortoise I could not identify. Nevertheless, the hoofed animals had no grip on the floor and therefore were in constant stress. The capybaras were placed in a bathtub to 'replicate' their natural environment which is the Amazon, and the monkeys had some climbing areas, but were still clearly stressed because they constantly jumped onto people's backs.
At the start of my visit, I noticed that there was an owl at the entrance, and it was chained to a cabinet of some sort, entirely disabling it from exhibiting natural behaviour. Later on, I saw 5 more owls like this, as if it were a museum, and they were not allowed to move. There was also a sloth, which had a single rope to climb on to go across the room. The larger room also smelled of urine and faeces, showing the unsanitary living conditions for the animals as well.
Overall, this place completely disregarded any rights and welfare of the animals for the following reasons: Unsanitary living areas (urine + faeces) Small living conditions No hide away areas for any of the animals Constant stress with people watching and screaming Unnatural combinations of animals (the animals in large room do not coexist together at all) Unnatural living conditions (animals didnt have grip on floor of room)
In conclusion, this place is undoubtedly the most unethical, cruel, and sad animal place I have ever been to; absolute DISGRACE. I highly don't recommend going to this place, they use all their money for themselves and not to improve the welfare of...
Read morePLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. Ignore all the reviews saying it’s good. There are several owls chained down not even to sticks just a circle of wood. They are forced to sit there all day ( owls are nocturnal ) with no water or food. The budgies also have no water and were wet with sweat. They started drinking the sweat from my hands. The sloth has three small sticks to climb on and was huddled in a circle with no water. There were about 50 baby chickens in a tiny cage so they could barely move. I don’t even what to think what happens to them once they get to big. I used to own Guinea pigs and the area 20 were living in could maybe fit 3. Guinea pigs need lots of room to run around and hide in. They had absolutely nothing to hide in. Hamsters need over 8 inches of shavings to burrow in and the hamsters here had a sprinkling of sawdust and one cover. There were several small animals like ferrets and chinchillas in tiny cages with no enrichment. The ducks had one tiny tray of water which had poo in it and they were forced to run around on tiles which isn’t good for there feet. There was also random rabbits in there with them. There is a cloth cover coving cages and cages of rabbits and Guinea pigs and small rodents. The reptiles had absolutely tiny cages and there was an iguana in one that could barely turn around. In a fish tank there was four axolotls which were in horrible condition. They had no gills and scratches all over them. There was a plastics water bottle in there and they had no water filter or sand or decoration. In the second room there are so many animals roaming free on tiles which is so bad for hoofed animals. The capybaras have bathtubs to sit in but there was poo in there. The animals have no where to go if they don’t want to be there and are forced to stay there all day. They have no drinking water and a toucan flew to a sink which I was standing at and kept tapping and biting it until a worker came over and turned it on so it had water. All these animals breed together and I’m sure they are inbred. These are exotic animals and don’t deserve this horrible life. Please don’t...
Read moreBOYCOTT IF YOU CARE ABOUT ANIMALS.
