It is my first time staying in this Japanese hotel chain (Okura hotels chain) with my family during our holiday to Japan. There are many reasons why I rate this hotel 5 star, which includes these reasons but are not limited to:
Direction connection from Haneda and Narita International Airport to the hotel and vice versa
Limousine services are available from the airports to the hotel and from the hotel to the airports (drop off directly at the hotel entrance)
Fast and efficient limousine booking process can be made at the lobby front desk before/during checkout, with friendly staff assisting in the booking process
Porters are always ready at the entrance of the hotel, greeting us hotel guests as we entered the hotel lobby
The porters are always ready in assisting us with the luggage from the moment we reach the hotel entrance to the moment we check in our room
Hotel staff who are friendly and hospitable, greeting us with a bow and replying back with hospitality when we greet them "Ohayo", "Konnichiwa" (good morning and hello in Japanese).
Hotel staff are always ready to assist hotel guest, in terms of check in queries, information access, buffet breakfast, room service etc
When I told them that there isn't anymore udon noodles left on the buffet selection, they immediately went to check and came back with the udon. They are very fast in the handling process.
The room service response is also very fast, as the hotel management received my request for room service and send cleaners to make up my room without much delays.
I do not need to wait for so long to reach the lobby and my room floor as there are many lifts in the hotel
Moreover, the chair in every lift provides comfort as I sit down and wait till it reaches my room floor.
Spacious rooms offering scenic views
The rooms in Grand Nikko Tokyo Odaiba offer a paronamic view of the Rainbow Bridge, the Cruise Terminal as well as the Tokyo Bay. I love the view of the scenery at all times of the day (morning, afternoon, evening) from the room window. Afterall, this 4-5 star hotel is reasonably priced and it offers guests promising views of the city and the bay!
Accessibility and Convenience
This hotel is just directly connected to Daiba Station on the Yurikamome Line, situated at Daiba which offers promising views of the Tokyo Bay and Daiba area. It makes travelling around Daiba and Tokyo metropolitan area very convenient, hence making my Tokyo sightseeing experience a very memorable one.
There are also plenty of sightseeing and retail options conveniently located near the hotel, such as Aqua City Odaiba, Diver City Odaiba, Tokyo Cruise Terminal, Rainbow Bridge etc. The plenty of options allow me to enjoy shopping and sightseeing conveniently.
Great design with a wide range of amenities
The hotel design is so amazing! From the lobby to the room corridor to my room, it has a mix of Japanese and Western decorations, something that surprises me and my family as we first stayed in this hotel! The rooms are also very comfortable, with plenty of magazines for reading and plenty of tv shows for watching! There are also 2 swimming pools, a gym and many restaurants in this hotel!
Overall, it is so wonderful to stay in a hotel with plenty of amenities and one that offers great convenience to more sightseeing options in Tokyo! This hotel definitely brings me wonderful memories as our family stayed for a total of 4 nights in Tokyo! A great way to enjoy the holidays in December 2024! Our family will definitely choose back this hotel for our next stay during our next...
Read moreLoved staying at this hotel and would definitely stay again. We stayed for 2 weeks in a bay view floor, superior twin style room.
The size is huge compared to most Tokyo hotels and is reasonably priced considering the size and location. The hotel feels upscale, and very quiet despite how busy it can get (they seem to host a lot of events and tour groups). The elevators are a little slow in the hotel, but you don't have to wait long to get one. The staff are friendly and helpful. They took our bags from us at the front desk on check-in and brought it to our room. They also held our bags on check out for the day. I noticed they also provide baggage forwarding service in the lobby. Most of the staff speak good English.
The room was large with plenty of storage space - the closet fit 2 large luggage on the bottom plus duffels on the upper part. The bed was comfortable and roomy. The water pressure in the shower was good. There is no coin laundry nearby but the hotel offers laundry service. There was also a retractable clothing line in our tub that was useful. There is no microwave in the room. There is a mini fridge. There is daily newspaper delivery (English or Japanese depending on what you mark as your primary language).
The location of this hotel is excellent - there are 3 malls within walking distance with lots of dining and shopping options. There are multiple highly rated restaurants in the hotel too. There is a Lawson conbini on property. It feels very safe to walk around even when it's dark outside. The Daiba station is right outside the front of the hotel and has a ramp so you don't have to worry about luggage. There is also an airport bus that runs directly from HND airport to this hotel with no other stop in between. There are also usually taxis waiting out front for those who prefer to use that instead. It is a little far from the city center, takes about 20 mins to get to Tokyo station area, but I noticed most of the time we traveled opposite of the rush hour (most people seem to commute into this area for work), and the train connects to other lines at smaller train stations, so we were almost always able to grab a seat.
Overall excellent experience and...
Read moreThe hotel is old but of good quality. However, staff service and attitudes are terrible. If the management wants customers they need to rectify staff performance. We heard many guests saying similar comments to ours. We arrived off a coach with a large amount of luggage. Usually in a 4 or 5 star hotel there are porters to help but there was no one in the driveway. We took a trolley and started to load our luggage when a porter came and unloaded our luggage and told us we had to take it into the hotel ourselves. We were not to take a trolley! The hotel foyer was chaotic with luggage and people everywhere. It was not apparent where we were to go so we lined up at checkin where we were greeted by a very rude female who told us we could not checkin yet. We asked if we could just do the paperwork and she rolled her eyes and said no. She told us to leave our luggage in the foyer and to return at 3pm. She seemed to have perfected eye rolling as everything we asked was greeted with eye rolling. We were unhappy to leave our luggage in the foyer so took it to the bell captain. They were equally unhappy but tied a rope around our luggage and left it outside the luggage room. When we came to checkin our room was upgraded as the hotel was full. But upgraded meant room only. We could not use the associated lounge even though the upgrade was for the hotels convenience. We had requested a king bed but were given 2 singles in the upgraded room. We were told there were no large beds even though our floor corridor seemed to be fairly vacant. The bathroom was okay but the shower over the bath meant I had to step over the bath to get into the shower. This is no mean feat with a hip and knee problem. Furthermore we have never stayed in a hotel where guests have to pay to use the pool and gym. This was very disappointing. The buffet breakfast is of low quality so don’t expect great food. Although the hotel is well situated by two shopping centres and access to a private train line we would not stay here again unless we were assured staff training had...
