this shrine was established by a wealthy sailor and feudal lord of the local area called Yojiro Nakekata about 800 years ago. Haneda Shrine was supported by successive rulers over the generations, and was thought of as a place to go to pray to cure illnesses such as smallpox. Today it is a common destination of airline employees and executives who come to wish for the safety of their passengers and aircraft.

The shrine is perhaps not an obvious destination, but it is one of the more well known historical landmarks in the area. If you have an hour or more to explore and don’t feel like staying in the airport take the Keikyu Line to Otori Station and follow the street signs to the shrine. It is about a 10...

If your fan of planes our airlines and you want to visit some traditional shinto shrine, this is your place. Even though the shrine is not so big as others, they feel so mystical and relaxing. They have some special Ema with planes which makes an excellent souvenir for home.

Also if you collect Goshiun (Temple Stamps) and you have any Goshuincho (Temple Stampbook) of ANA or JAL you can get a special...
