Mediocre rooms, terrible service. First, when we checked in, I asked the manager (?) assisting checkin about how to use the shuttle bus, and he said that groups of more than 10 are difficult, so if our group of 16 rode on the shuttle bus, nobody else would be able to ride it. And I said, okay, I see, so, if we went in two separate groups of 8, one, one hour and one the next hour, how about that? He replied no, other people wouldn't be able to ride if you did that. To which I said, so you're saying we shouldn't be able to use the shuttle at all because any use of it by our group would prevent others from using it, but isn't the opposite also true? That seems discriminatory specifically to us. His response was just repetitions of insincere apologies ad nauseum. It was clear he had no interest in helping us in any way, and I was tired of his rudeness, so I gave up and went to my room. The shuttle times weren't actually useful to our group anyways, as it turned out, and the next day it was "broken down." When I went up to my room and found it to be a bit mediocre, but when I did my usual mattress check, it was filthy, hairs here and there, stains, and a wadded up old tissue stuffed under my sheets. The morning of check out, there was a knock at my door as I was getting dressed. I shouted to hold on a minute, but thank goodness I had the secondary lock latched because the male housekeeper unlocked my door and tried to open it. He ran away when I shouted, but it was still very startling. I talked to another housekeeper I found on the floor and told her about the issue and she apologized and said that my room was listed as checked out, which I told her must be a mistake because clearly, I was still in the room and had all my keys. When I came back from breakfast and was just finishing up packing around 10:15am, I got a message asking me to hurry up and get out of the room because they wanted to clean it. Checkout is at 11am. I have never in my life heard of a hotel asking a customer to hurry up and get out before checkout time, and when I told them about the error they just kept insisting I had checked out earlier, when, very clearly, I had not. I don't know what caused the mistake, if there was a machine error, etc., but at the very least I expect a hotel to take responsibility for such things. While I doubt these things happen to most guests, it was pretty abominable overall. The best thing about the room was the steam cleaner cabinet, that thing was awesome. But probably not worth the stress of...
Read moreFully automated check in and out experience. It is actually easy, only need to key in the name that it is reserved under and scan the passports of the people staying there. I chose to pay at the hotel and the payment was straight forward. Getting the key cards is also a no brainer. Just choose 2 cards since 1 need to be in the slot of the room for the electricity to be on and you'll have another if you need to pop downstairs to wash clothes. There's a laundry room downstairs with 3 washers and dryers. I went in may 2024, the washer costs 500yen and the dryer is 200 yen for 10mins. There is no 5 mins for 100yen. So make sure you have enough coins. There is no coin change machine so save up your 100yen coins if you intend to use the laundry. You would need at least 30mins for the dryer and my jeans was still not dry after 40mins. There's 4 vending machines there. 1 that sell ice cream, nicest was coolish 180yen. There's another that sell alcohol. Another that sell normal drinks. Another that sell some snacks, sim card and cup noodles. Some claw machines. A place to lock your suitcase if you cannot check in yet or if you want to use it after check out. A microwave you can use as well. A place to eat breakfast from 5.30am to 10am. Last order at 9.30am. Going in the lift requires a room key to access your level, so security is there. Big pyjamas, comb, razor and cotton bud to take before going up. Free shuttle bus to and from airport. Check their website for times. Room is perfect size. But if you have 2 big luggage, it might be small. The bed is comfortable. They provide free WiFi. There's no trash cans! Only for recycling of plastic bottles is provided in the lobby. They provide eco cleaning for rooms. A full cleaning is done on every 3 days of your stay. Nearest train station is Otorii Station and it can get you to all tourist spots with some transfer for some but its a great experience. Overall, I would...
Read moreWe wanted to book a place near our departure airport and we chose this one. The Haneda Airport customer service was very helpful for us and gave us a list of hotels near the airport and the website, not use google for bookings. We got a taxi ride during a big rainstorm and we're freaking out cause the fare was in thousands and some streets traffic lights took forever to change. Oh, we're here it was around the corner. Taxi was ¥3300-¥3800 . Woah, greeted by AI hostess and 2 dinosaurs. I remembered this on the news how a famous yt documentary has his vlogs here. As we're checking in my passport one of my pages was half way folded and not flat. A receiption came out right away and helped us recheck in. All was smooth got our key cards. Yes, the rooms were small, but two double beds, a back alley view, a kettle, couch and 4 hangers what more could we want besides a microwave. The TV was a projector on the wall that was unique and first time trying a bidet just lovely. A remote for the AC. I had no problem turning it on/adjust/off in another language. There's breakfast in the morning, which was not included during our stay np. There's extra toiletries beside the elevator and a laundry area. A huge Manga collection to browse. There's vending machines but only accepts coins no ic cards. At the lobby there's locks for your suitcase. But be warned, this hotel is very far away from tokyo City. At least 3 different lines. Overall, a pleasant quiet getaway from the hectic city and near...
