This is my first time staying at Toyoko Inn Haneda Airport 2. I had a wonderful experience here.||I had a 4-hour flight delay and didn’t arrive at Haneda Airport until 8:00pm (The original scheduled arrival time was 3:50pm). Thanks to the hotel’s free shuttle bus, I was able to arrive at the hotel after a long tiring day without getting soaking wet in the pouring rain in Tokyo. ||Toyoko Inn Haneda Airport 2 was newly renovated this March with a lot of nice features.|1. Contactless check-in/ check-out kiosk: Guests just need to enter their booking number to check in and get the key and a slip with all the instructions they need during their stay. Checking-out is even easier within seconds on the kiosk. |2. Even with the convenient kiosk machines, there are still friendly and helpful front desk staff on duty. I booked through Agoda and the kiosk had trouble locating my reservation. The front desk staff helped me find the correct information. |3. Free umbrellas for guests to borrow during their stay.|4. Free toiletry items, including mini skin care packets, in the lobby for guests.|5. Free hearty and delicious breakfast items with local ingredients. |6. Friendly servers during breakfast time. They kindly greet each guest with a smile and do a good job cleaning the tables and trays once guests leave to create a nice dining environment. |7. Small rooms with everything you need for a comfortable experience. The room is not big, which is normal in Tokyo, but all the amenities you need are nicely organized in built-in shelves. There are even nicely folded pajamas on the bed. |8. Free shuttle bus services between Haneda Airport and the hotel. Bus drivers are super nice and will help you with your suitcases. They even tried to park right in front of the hotel entrance so that guests wouldn’t have to walk in the rain.|9. Convenient location. This hotel is next to Otorii Station on the Keikyu Airport Line. Many restaurants and shops are just within walking distance.||I stayed at Toyoko Inn because of a long layover on my way to Taiwan. It’s a hotel worth staying...

Issue: Hotel Membership Fee Despite having a reservation, the hotel still insisted on charging us a 1,500 yen (approx $9.54) membership fee per person.

Situation: We made a 1-night reservation but booked an extra night to allow my sister-in-law a late check-out due to her later flight, making it easier for her and the baby. We arrived two hours before the 4 pm check-in time, but they refused to let us check in early unless we paid the hotel "membership" fee for each person (3 adults, 1 minor (10), and a baby (2 years old)), totaling 4,500 yen (approx $50). We argued that we already paid for an extra night, which we wouldn't use, but even the manager wouldn't budge. As a result, we had to wait in the lobby for the full 120 minutes with a baby and our bags.

"Free" Airport Shuttle: Yes, the hotel offers a free shuttle to the airport, but it only runs from 4 am to 10 am. If your flight is in the afternoon or at night, like most international flights (ours was at 4 pm), you must pay for a taxi or Uber (approx $20).

Language Barrier: I understand we are in a foreign country and should try to communicate as best as we can. However, at this hotel, they wouldn't even look at the translator and just kept saying "Sorry." We tried to explain our situation to no avail, even with a translator. They essentially demanded we speak Japanese.

Overall, the hotel is conveniently located near the airport, the lobby is clean, and there are multiple clerks for check-in. However, the misleading "free shuttle" advertisement is disappointing since most international flights are either in the late afternoon...

After a delightful seven-hour journey, we touched down in Tokyo, only to be rewarded with a generous 10-hour layover—because who doesn’t love extra airport time? Anticipating this joy, we had wisely booked a room at Toyoko Inn Haneda Airport No.2, conveniently close to the airport and boasting a shuttle service. Upon arrival at the shuttle stop, the bus appeared precisely on time. Japanese punctuality at its finest! A swift 10-minute drive later, we reached the hotel. The entrance and lobby were clean, and the self-service check-in kiosks added a modern touch. A young man in professional attire assisted us with a warm smile, making the process seamless. Our room was on the 13th floor. Stepping out of the elevator, we entered a dimly lit, narrow corridor with doors that had clearly seen better days. First impressions? Let’s call them “vintage chic.” Unlocking our room door, we found a space that redefined “cozy.” The bathroom was reminiscent of an airplane lavatory—intimately compact. After freshening up, I felt parched and searched for water. Finding none, I called the front desk, only to be advised to drink tap water from the bathroom. Next to the toilet. Yum. Politely declining, I was informed I could fetch water from a dispenser behind the front desk. Trekking downstairs, I navigated a small walkway to discover a water dispenser accompanied by tiny paper cups, perfect for a Lilliputian espresso shot. Parched but too tired to protest, I hydrated as best I could and retreated to our dusty sanctuary. The bed, it seemed, had been visited by the Dust Fairy. A quick swipe sent particles dancing through the air. Using a towel as a makeshift pillowcase, I attempted to sleep, with minimal success. Morning came, and after a contortionist’s shower in the mini-tub, we headed to breakfast. The restaurant area was immaculate, offering a delightful spread. The staff were exceptional—attentive, friendly, and eager to assist, their smiles genuine and heartwarming. This dining experience was the hotel’s saving grace. In summary, while the room offered a nostalgic journey into the past and a chance to test one’s claustrophobia tolerance, the outstanding breakfast and stellar service provided a redeeming end to our stay. If only the rooms matched the quality of the dining experience, this hotel would easily earn five stars.

Very good hotel. Rooms are a bit small but that’s expected in Tokyo. All facilities in the room are working such as shower, air conditioning, kettle, and toilets. You collect your toiletries at the ground floor. The beds are comfortable. Check in was a breeze using their machine with their staff assisting. Breakfast spread was adequate, they had good chicken salad and breads. The location was superb - only 30m from the Otorii stations and also plenty of restaurants, convenience stores and shops for buying your cosmetics and pharmacy products with tax free discounts. The hotel also have lockers and storage facilities if your flights are later and you need to keep your luggage there for several hours. They also have a free shuttle to Haneda airport with regular departures.
