The name of Naniwaya Sohonten comes from the fact that Seijiro Kobe I was from Naniwa (present-day Osaka), and thus named the restaurant Naniwaya after his hometown. The company was founded in 1909. Since then, we have continued to make taiyaki in accordance with traditional methods. In addition to taiyaki, we also serve yakisoba, oshiruko (sweet red bean soup), shaved ice, and anmitsu (sweet bean paste). Since the store is not air-conditioned, the shaved ice in the summer time is very special. Please enjoy azuki beans cooked in one pot for eight hours a day.

Even though this location is known for their taiyaki, the menu many other options.
The shell of the taiyaki here differs from many other places. It is more of a crispy wafer crust vs the fluffy pancake style (also very yummy). The taiyaki is generously filled from head to tail.
