This is a trash hotel. Somehow, they suckered my wife into paying $400 USD for one night here on our way out of town. A quick check shows 4 and 5 star hotels in better areas (there is nothing of note near by the aptly-named “one” hotel other than sky tree) but I would let that lapse in value slide, as long as the accommodations and service are reasonable. Spoiler: they aren’t. The lobby area is overflowing with suitcases and junk— packed and chaotic from the start. No help with bags offered, etc. Fine, whatever. The room has the thinnest mattress I have ever seen, on a plywood platform frame (if you look at my photo, no that’s not a thin box spring. It’s a thin mattress on top of a wood platform wrapped in fabric.) This was also the large bed option, which we paid dearly for… I happened to have a troika measuring pen with me— no joke the mattress is 5 inches thick. At $400 USD per night. This is not busy season, it’s November. Believe the other reviews, the beds are vile. It is the worst mattress I have ever tried to lay down on. The lie-flat seats in delta one have given me a better rest. The elevators and lobby floor are FILTHY. There are no amenities of note. This is a hospitality level for broke college kids, not working people— if it were priced that way. The check-out time is the earliest stingiest thing that we’ve had in Japan at 11 AM, the staff are rude, and for a meager one hour extension to noon (the default at every other place we stayed, so we could avoid killing too much time before our flight) they told us it would be an ***additional 30%*** on top of the $400 USD a night rate (which we booked directly through them, no Expedia or middle man) — again, for this absolutely subpar accommodation. Hint: just say “no” - this offer was insulting as we were already feeling burned on the room. The AC barely works (room smells “humid” and stuffy), and there is a ~15khz whine coming from somewhere. This was an awful way to wrap up our trip. The staff were unapologetic, aloof, and unaccommodating through and through. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this vile excuse for a hospitality operation.

I don’t even know where to start. This will be my only bad review in Japan, we spent 2 weeks in Japan and this hotel was the worst experience ever, and I am hoping someone sees this review and DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. here I go : 1-The worst bed you will ever find, there’s no words to describe this horrific bed, specifically when you spent 6 night there, you will sleep in a rock basically and you will feel itchy every single night. It was that bad that we have to leave for one night to our friends hotel for us to rest 2-The elevators are disgusting dirty, how come you can have an elevator like that this was supposed to be a decent hotel not a motel for a single night (not even in that case) 3- the room size is a joke, I know hotels in Tokyo are small but this was extremely small, there is no closet and the “wood doors “ were falling apart and scratches all over. 4- Two of the six night that we stay they didn’t clean even tho we requested they only came to give us some water and they took the slipper away! Without leaving new ones 5-DO NOR EXPECT AND KINDNESS FROM THE STAFF maybe a “hello” and that it. Even tho I know Tokyo people are know as “cold” we had no problem at all anywhere else but HERE. 6- Even if you complain there will Be NO help. 7- The iron was a Joke it was all burned and ruined my clothes ( please see the pic) The only “good thing” is the location because is 4 min away (walking) from the station and the Skytree. BUT IS NOT WORTH THE BAD EXPERIENCES !!!! Just do not stay here, they need to work so hard to improve this hotel.

During the time of stay, our money was lost in the room. We put cash in the backpack. It’s our problem that we didn’t put in the safety. However, hotel has no clear response system! When we found out lost money, we have repeatedly confirmed whether it was lost because of our negligence. We still couldn’t find the money so we immediately responded the situation to the hotel. In the beginning, the attitude was quite nice. Until we asked them to check security monitor, the attitude of the hotel manager become very strong. After check security, hotel said only housekeeper went to the room. But there were no evidenced that housekeeper stole it. Also, hotel mentioned they changed the housekeeper company on January. Finally, we only got a letter telling the situation and they never encountered it there is no solution. We feel very irresponsible. It doesn't matter if the money can't be found, but at least the attitude is responsible.

This is a very overrated hotel that felt more like a youth hostel. We got there and the lobby was absolutely overflowing with luggage that was being stored in the entrance for folks with early check in. There was a long wait to check in and the front desk staff do not speak English. We booked the nicest room, the library suite and we’re sorely disappointed by the quality of the experience. The room had a cool design but proved to not be functional. The hot water was warm at best in the tub and shower so I had to use the waste paper basket to fill up the tub with hot water from the sink. The staff came up and could offer no solution. The room had a projector which seemed cool but it’s only connected to local cable so you can’t watch a movie after a long day of exploring. The projector would not shut off and made a loud noise all night. The location is tricky if you are wanting to exploring Tokyo. It’s about 40 minutes minimum to get anywhere. I think where this place most differs compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at at a similar price range in Tokyo is in the level of service. It just all felt half-baked. It’s a shame because I love the work of Kengo Kuma and was really disappointed in the way the place is managed.

Super great hotel in Oshiage area, minutes walk to Skytree, which makes it convenient to go to major destinations in Tokyo. (From my experience, it will take like 20 min to Senso-ji temple, and around 30 min to Nihonbashi) It also has a Yoshinoya restaurant downstairs of the hotel, always ready for grabbing some foods. The hotel itself is in modern design, simple and elegant. Utilities are in good conditions and also with neat design. The staff here are friendly and ready to help. Really recommend to stay here if you have a stop for Senso-ji temple, skytree, and even Ginza. (It’s a bit far for Shibuya and Shinjuku, so this hotel isn’t the best option for those destinations. We actually will move to our next hotel for those destinations). My only minor complaint is the internet speed is not that good. It will take me a while for loading pages. Hope this can be improved in the future.
