The Christmas Illumination at Tokyo Skytree was a magical experience for our family, and to our surprise, it wasn’t as crowded as we expected. The festive lights were absolutely stunning, casting a warm and sparkling glow over the entire area. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since we last visited, and our children are already excited for our next trip next month!
While we loved the holiday atmosphere, with beautifully decorated trees and twinkling lights everywhere, we did find the food fairs a bit overpriced. However, the variety of seasonal treats and snacks made up for it, and it was still a fun way to experience the holiday cheer in Tokyo.
Tokyo Skytree, with its towering presence, provided the perfect backdrop for the festive display, and the views from the observation deck were breathtaking. You get a panoramic view of Tokyo’s city lights, which blend perfectly with the Christmas illuminations below. It’s a great spot to visit during the holiday season, especially with family.
We spent the evening wandering around Tokyo Solamachi, exploring the shops, enjoying the festive decorations, and snapping lots of photos. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, allowing us to fully soak in the holiday spirit. If you’re visiting Tokyo during the Christmas season, we highly recommend stopping by Tokyo Skytree for a magical evening of lights and festive fun. We can’t wait to return and create more...
Read moreSkytree Town is a bustling hub of activity with something for just about everyone. Whether you’re here before heading up Tokyo Skytree or winding down afterward, it’s definitely worth exploring. The shopping area is packed with interesting stores—ranging from quirky souvenir shops to high-end fashion and specialty boutiques. It’s a great place to pick up unique gifts or just enjoy some window shopping.
There are plenty of food options, from sit-down restaurants to quick bites. If you’re in the mood for something familiar, there’s a Starbucks, but I highly recommend checking out the charming little ice cream shop tucked in among the stores—it’s a sweet treat and a nice break from the crowd.
That said, it does get very busy, especially on weekends and holidays. At times, it can feel like you’re being herded through the space, and finding a quiet spot to sit down and relax can be a bit of a challenge. Still, the energy is part of the experience, and with so many things to see and try, it’s easy to stay entertained.
Whether you’re looking for shopping, food, or just a lively atmosphere to soak in the local vibe, Skytree Town is a fun and worthwhile stop as part of your Tokyo...
Read moreIt was great to see a view of Tokyo but you have to book in advance, there are two heights you can go up to and to go to the upper part it sells out quick. We only managed the 350m mark which still gets you a great view but a lot of parts of the deck were hard to get to as they have parts set up for 'free photos ' which is you wait in more queues to get a free photo which is tiny because they really want you to buy the big one. Also there was a special Pokémon event on while we were there so the cafe had Pokémon themed food but when we went to try there was up to a 40 minutes wait and asked if we had reserved when there had been no signs or warnings previously saying we had to or even could book. As we were waiting to go in the queue back down the cafe that had a 40 minutes wait was half empty so clearly the booking system is pointless, furthermore on the slightly lower part where the café was you could barely see any of that part as the café blocked the best view or you were shoved straight into the queue down. Don't know if it was worth the price really, but you get...
