The quality of sushi is very good for the price. This conveyor belt sushi is FAST, like within 2 min., you receive your sushi request! Great taste for fast food.
Although this Kura is a “flagship” store, I didn’t see any difference between a regular store except for the nice location across the street from Tokyo Skytree in the Richmond hotel. This restaurant has a huge display game for the gachapon, if you win. (When you eat your sushi, you drop your empty plates into a slot to win a gachapon, redeemable at the big display.)
The clean and welcoming interior is inviting. The curtains at each table provide partial privacy. Compared to other Kura stores, this restaurant fried their dishes well. The corn and fried fish dish tasted fresh from a fryer (or at least not microwaved).
We ate 22 plates of sushi. The bill was roughly $40 USD, which could easily be 2-3X in the USA. There was no wait and not many people on a Wednesday, 2PM.
This flagship store does not offer fugu, but Kura Kura Asakusa...

Sub par sushi, not a single person in sight. My father knocked his head on the door of KURA when we were on vacation. It got worse gradually, so my mother and I decided to lodge a feedback to the manager of the branch in hopes of a sticker getting placed on the sliding glass doors. We were worried for children and elderly who may injure themselves as such.
However, the manager, under the name Gō, had an awful attitude and retorted saying that there’s glass doors all over Japan. We spoke in mandarin as he was fluent—I wish I had the conversation and his tone recorded. We did not argue, we did not complain. It was the general disrespect he displayed.
We did not need an apology; we just wanted our suggestion to be heard. But having met with such attitude from KURA sushi, I’m confident that I’ll never recommend this place to any relative or friend. It is with utmost displeasure that I voice this incident out since we were refused...
Read moreGreat place to get some sushi and similar food. No real human interaction. All of your ordering will be via touch screen and delivered via conveyor belts. There are a few things already on the lower conveyor belt, but most (if not all) of what you eat will be sent to you on the upper belt as you order on the touch screen. Food usually appeared within about 3 minutes of ordering it. Multiple language options on the touch screen at your table make this very easy. We stuck with the standard options which were mostly sushi. You can also order some other less obvious things like french fries and onion rings but we decided to avoid this. There is a decent drink selection as well.
Very kid-friendly. The only slight criticism I have is that the music track was only about 20 minutes long so you hear the loop several times. Also, for some reason, pomp and circumstance was one of the song selections when...
