Wonderfully detailed, and interactive museum located on the 8th floor of the SkyTree, if you end up on the roof, and you walk around to a door that says "Closed", it's actually for something else that's closed, tap the sensor and it ought to let you in. There is a direct elevator to that area and a direct escalator (but I can't describe that); would have spent longer there but 5yr old got bored since she couldn't touch the actual robots themselves. The picture is of an interactive videogame that you play with racing wheelchairs.

I visited the Tokyo Skytree just to see the 1/1 scale VF-25 canopy inside the Chiba Institute of Technology. As someone that’s never been inside it’s little tricky to find, but after thirty minutes of walking I finally found it (LOL). It was a blast to see the several robotic technologies, the staff was very helpful and kind. Area I’s various robots were fun, and Area II’s planetary attractions were informative. But the highlight for me as a Macross fan was the Valkyrie cockpit. It’s simply amazing to see up close and in person.

Area 2 shows Japan’s space research and the famous VF-25 from Macross Frontier. There’s English description on everything so you can get general info. Staffs are very friendly and sharing the story behind the scene with great passion(or maybe it was a staff with another visitor who happens like Macross series a lot.) if you understand Japanese then you can enjoy more. Maybe in a few years they can make the arm and head on the back to real robot part and make it do stuff, and then make real Valkyrie in decades!

TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN CAMPUS, CHIBA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is a science museum on the 8th floor of the B Building of Skytree Tower complex. Admission is free of charge. It has real size of GERWALK mode Macross ‘Valkyrie VF-25F’ as part of the permanent exhibition. If you take elevator in B building to the observation dome on 8th floor, go out and just fallow the pathway to the next door to the building. Apart of Valkyrie there are many interactive demonstration of the Space or robotics that will capture your and your kids attention. Or just gaze over katana made of meteorite, or do moonwalk...

Being this my first time in Japan I decided to visit the Skytree where I had the opportunity to came across this wonderful place in the 8th floor. The student that was explaining the exhibition Hironiri Taguchi, took the time to explain everything even with our language barrier ( I used translator for some things) he even helped me with doubts that weren’t related to the exhibition. This act of patience definitely made this trip worthy. If you guys want to see some awesome technology and enjoy a little of japanese culture on the way, I definitely...
