ニューヨークのペースは世界3大ギャラリー、ガゴシアン @gagosian 、ハウザー&ワース @hauserwirth を含む内の１つ。それが日本で初めて東京にできている。既にアジアでは香港、ソウルに展開。

取扱作家はパブロ・ピカソ、マーク・ロスコ、アグネス・マーティン @agnesmartinbeforethegrid 、ジェフ・クーンズ @jeffkoons 、ジェームズ・タレル @jamesturell 、李禹煥 @leeufanarles 、奈良美智 @michinara3 、名和晃平 @nawa_kohei 、岡﨑乾二郎 @kenjirookazaki など。

岡﨑乾二郎は東京都現代美術館 @mot_museum_art_tokyo で企画展を開催中。評価が高く話題を呼んでいる。圧巻の内容だった。

オルデンバーグの日本での披露は1970年の大阪万博のアメリカ館にて油圧装置で動く機械仕掛けの大規模な彫刻「Giant Ice Bag」を発表、1973年に最初に個展を南画廊（今は閉業）が開催。

オルデンバーグはポップアートを代表する彫刻家。ソフト・スカルプチャーは草間彌生の作品から着想を得ていると言われている。

その時代にこんな可愛いポップな作品を創られていたことに新鮮な驚き。

プレッツェルの自販機の作品では、エディションナンバー付きのプレッツェルの作品が購入できる。面白い。30万円位。

先日の島根県立美術館 @shimane_art_museum の柚木沙弥郎展のように、偉大な作家の作品には永遠性を感じる。

PACEの藝大出身の韓国人のアシスタントの方が丁寧に流暢な日本語で親切に接遇してくださった。

東京のギャラリーは一部敷居を高く感じ、緊張を感じることがあるが、PACEは心地良さがあった。

過去に六本木のピラミデビルの古美術 ロンドンギャラリー @londongallery1971 の店主も温和に接して頂いた。その時のギャラリストの接遇を思い出した。

アシスタントの方に質問したら、インスタレーション作品を創られるとのことで、PACEの環境で良質なインプットができ、今後の彼女の活動も期待させて頂きたい。

良い作品は良い人柄、人間性が滲み出て深みがある。私はそれに感動する。

世界の一流を肌感覚で体感した。

Life in art: Discover the world's best at PACE Gallery @pacegallery in Azabudai Hills and Claes Oldenberg's "This & That" exhibition.

Pace in New York is one of the three biggest galleries in the world, along with Gagosian @gagosian and Hauser & Wirth @hauserwirth. It is the first in Japan to open in Tokyo. It has already expanded to Hong Kong and Seoul in Asia.

Artists represented include Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin @agnesmartinbeforethegrid, Jeff Koons @jeffkoons, James Turrell @jamesturell, Lee Ufan @leeufanarles, Yoshitomo Nara @michinara3, Kohei Nawa @nawa_kohei, Kenjiro Okazaki @kenjirookazaki, and more.

Okazaki Kenjiro is currently holding a special exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo @mot_museum_art_tokyo. It has been highly praised and has been a hot topic. The content was overwhelming.

Oldenburg's first exhibition in Japan was at the American Pavilion of the Osaka Expo in 1970, where he exhibited a large-scale hydraulically operated mechanical sculpture called "Giant Ice Bag." In 1973, he held his first solo exhibition at Minami Gallery (now closed).

Oldenburg is a representative sculptor of pop art. His soft sculptures are said to have been inspired by the works of Yayoi Kusama.

It was a fresh surprise to see that he created such cute pop works at that time.

You can purchase a pretzel vending machine work with an edition number. Interesting. About 300,000 yen.

As with the recent exhibition of Yunoki Samiro at the Shimane Art Museum @shimane_art_museum, there is a sense of timelessness in the works of great artists.

The Korean assistant at PACE, who graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, treated me kindly and with fluent Japanese.

Some galleries in Tokyo can feel intimidating and tense, but PACE was comfortable.

The owner of the London Gallery of Antiques @londongallery1971 in the Piramide Building in Roppongi was also very kind to me in the past. It reminded me of the way the gallerist treated me then.

When I asked the assistant, she told me that she creates installation works, and that the PACE environment provided good input. I look forward to her future activities.

Good works have depth and exude good personality and humanity. I am moved by that.
