Five floors of fabric! It gets busy, but there are lots of staff members there to keep the queue moving. You have to pay for your purchases on each floor, and you take the fabric to the cutting table first, and then join the payment queue. There is a small selection of Nani Iro on the 4th floor, and lots of character prints (think Hello Kitty, Doraemon, Anpanman, etc), and a small amount of Sou Sou Kyoto. The prices were good (matched what I found in Okadaya and Cocca) and start as low as 100 yen per metre. Nani Iro was around 1400 yen per metre for double gauze, more for linen. I will definitely come back here on my next trip to Tokyo.

This store and the entire Fabric Town street is so fantastic for sewers and DIYers!! This store is so organized with each floor specializing in a different category or theme. They have now have big section of fat quarters (for quilting). Love their accessories for making your own bags (handles). Staff will help you calculate how much fabric you need if you re at a lost. Don't forget to check out the fabric remnants inside the entrance area. You can get nice fabric for dirt cheap. I got 2 metres of owl-patterned fabric for 500yen!!!!

Good prices on linen and cotton. I got a waffle weave cotton for towels, an indigo dyed print, lots of linen and a cotton corduroy here. Some of the linen at Nagato across the street was cheaper. You have each item cut and paid for on each floor. I recommend taking a duffle bag if you’re a tourist wanting to buy. I got lots! The wool is at another tomato store down the street and the selection wasn’t great. I only got wool at Nagatos wool shop.

Tomato is the place around Nippori that sells all types of fabrics and cloth used for sewing and handicraft. All types of accessories are available here. You can shop for the items you want, or spend the whole day in this maze. There are 2 buildings around this area, so you are spoilt for choice. This is our second time here, after a hiatus of 7 years... It is good to be back.
