Been in japan for a week so far, mostly in tokyo and around Asakusa Station area and tried plenty of places but this has been my favourite so far. The quality and variety of beers are awesome, so happy to find an amber ale. The food is even better than the beer and even our 11 year old loved the food. The fish n chips, prosciutto and fried sausage were our favourite, even ordering seconds. So wish australian pubs could serve interesting tasty food like this. Perfect for kids with the fish n chips and fried sausage Please note that staff speak limited english and no english menu so make sure you have google translate or similar. Also a lot of the item pictures on google reviews they have changed as they change the menu frequently so dont presume you can order from the pics online but dont worry whatever you order will be great, and if something isnt who cares. They try their hardest and i found it exceptional quality. Ohh had to edit after got the bill, only $80 total with 5 beers and food, definately my favourite place...
Read moreSuch a great spot! Really wish my Japanese was better so I could have properly expressed my appreciation instead of just saying "tasty 👍🏾" The beer was excellent, with about 6 in house brews and a handful of other local beers. We tried 5 of Okei's beers and they were all top notch. A lot of small breweries end up with beers that are too sweet or too carbonated or just off, but everything we tried was well balanced and delicious. The IPAs were flavorful without being too hoppy, the milk stout was smooth and rich, the gose was just the right mix of sour and salty and the Belgian wheat was complex without being overpowering. Just really well done. On top of that, the food was delicious. I love a brewery with a solid menu and the dishes we had here were on point. Lots of excellent beer and food packed into a little space, great spot to go if you're looking for craft...
Read moreWe had the opportunity to try two of their beers, and both were exceptional. The flavors were impressive, leaving us thoroughly satisfied.
Moving on to the food, their fish and chips surpassed all expectations. It was undoubtedly the most delectable version I have ever experienced, with the beer-infused butter adding a delightful twist.
The salmon pie was also a standout dish, particularly due to the incredible sauce that accompanied it. The combination of flavors was truly enjoyable.
However, I must admit that the soft-boiled egg with truffle mayonnaise was a disappointment. The mayonnaise was excessively salty, and the promised truffle flavor was absent, making it feel like a poor investment.
To ensure a seamless dining experience, I highly recommend making a reservation if you plan to visit...
