TOTO GALLERY · MA — Attraction in Tokyo

Toto Gallery was a nice visit during our art gallery sprawl. The exhibit here is mostly architecture focused, on how they develop buildings, railways and other infrastructure within Tokyo. It's very interesting to look at. Staff welcomes us at the entrance, there are English brochures and English text on the information boards besides each display. That was very convenient for us. I was pleasantly surprised by this gallery operated by TOTO. Unlike most private museums or galleries in Japan, most exhibits here have bilingual descriptions in English and Japanese. It is a small space across two floors but you can easily spend an hour here if you are interested in architecture. Urban Fungus was on display when I visited. Either there was a renovation taking place or the Toto toilet displays were gone. Currently it's an architectural concept exhibition on 2 floors plus the book store. Still worth a quick stop if in the area (free entry) - but probably not worth the trip if you're travelling from elsewhere.
