We had Hama lunch on a weekday. As soon as we were seated, we were asked whether we wanted sirloin or filet, whether we wanted fried rice or garlic rice for an additional charge, and what beverage we would like to order.I was glad that I had decided in advance (because I am quite indecisive).... By the way, if I answered sirloin and fillet for one person each, would you like to share? He suggested that we order a half portion of each dish. Sirloin, at first I was impressed with its melt-in-your-mouth tenderness! But it got tougher and tougher as it was quite oily lol.

The scallops were rich and delicious. The spinach had a bitter taste and the amount of spinach was too much for me.I'm glad I read the other reviews and decided to have white rice...!I took a bite of my partner's garlic rice, which was very tasty, but I felt it was quite heavy to eat with the delicious oil on the meat! My male companion also said he was quite full by the end of the meal! The scallops were rich and tasty!

Surprisingly, I was very impressed with the steak sauce with onions ^_^. It's refreshing and really tasty with just onions! We had free refills! It goes well with spinach, rice, and meat, so you can't help but eat too much...!

Also, the waitress was very attentive. I didn't remember the details of the course, and when I finished my dessert, the female waitress asked me if I would like some after-dinner tea or coffee.I was asked if I wanted to order more onions, and I thought he meant it.I thought she meant that I was fine with it, so I said no. Then, when it came time to pay the bill, I told the waiter that I was fine. Then, when it was time to pay the bill, the foreign male waiter asked us, "...don't you usually drink coffee or something like that? She asked me if I would like to have tea or coffee after my meal, and I finally realized that it was included in the course price!I finally realized what I had asked for. But I had already paid the bill, so I was at a loss!I was very happy!

Perhaps because it was lunch, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was more casual than I had expected, and the polite service made me feel very comfortable.

The women's restroom sink was well stocked with toothbrushes, toothpicks, and grease...

I dont know what happened when we came here but we were very disappointed. We were so excited to try the Matsusaka steak and the experience was very weird. We sat down and when we were handed the menu we asked about set meals when we were on the first page. The server didn't say anything until we saw there was a set meal and then tried to play it off like he didn't realize there was one when he had asked. It wasn't a language barrier either, he spoke perfect English. We didn't think much of it and then the chef came. For such an expensive meal, we were hoping to get a better experience (or something similar to the Tepanyaki meal we had in Kobe.) Anyways, the chef oversalted EVERYTHING. It was INEDIBLE. Luckily the meat was such high quality that it was still good just way over salted. We pretty much left the whole meal besides the steak because that meat was still delicious and tender. So while were just starting to eat our steak, 1 HOUR BEFORE CLOSING, were about to order another round of drinks and the server already has the check. We couldn't understand why. He just took the check, rang us up and brought the new check back along with more wine. He said they need us to pay because their kitchen has to close. I asked him what time they closed because I couldn't understand how he could rush us like this and he said in one hour. I was so annoyed and in disbelief that we paid and left it as it was. He then apologized and brought us a sweet to make up for it but we were not even offered any dessert or anything. (I thought one came with our meal too?) Anyways for $500 for 2 people I expected 1000000% better of an experience and meal. Save your money for...

We found this steakhouse on Google after spending a lot of time searching for a top quality place that serves wagyu beef. My husband loves steak and we’ve been to many high end steak houses in the UK, USA and even earlier on during our Japan trip. This place BY FAR the best place we’ve ever been to for steak!!!

I’m a vegetarian and always struggle to find steakhouses that can cater for me - Hama did a wonderful job!!! They had plenty of options for vegetarians, but their grilled vegetables and garlic rice were divine.

My husband ordered the prawns and the Matsusaka beef - he’s rated them 10/10 (more, if it were possible)! The beef just melted in your mouth like butter.

The food was wonderful and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere with the several teppanyaki tables and live cooking.

Now let’s come on to the main thing that makes a dining experience perfect - the staff!! Mr Morisawa and Mr Donovan were our waiters - they were such friendly people who really knew the menu inside out and great knowledge of each cut. Language barrier was no issue - most of the staff spoke good English or enough to make conversation at least! The service here was spectacular.

We came back again the next day (which was our last day in Tokyo) because we couldn’t get enough!! Highly recommend for couples who want a great Japanese teppanyaki...

This Japanese steak house truly lived up to its reputation for serving exquisite Matsusaka beef in teppanyaki style. The beef was impeccably tender and cooked to perfection, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience, especially when dipped in soy sauce—a highlight for any steak lover. However, it was a tad fattier than my usual preference, which might not be ideal for those who enjoy a leaner cut. The seafood selection was equally impressive; the prawns, in particular, were amazingly delicious, enhanced by a buttery coating that added depth to their natural flavor. I also indulged in the foie gras, which was rich and flavorful—a must-try for any fan of gourmet cuisine. My absolute favorite dish of the evening was the garlic fried rice—I could easily eat it every day. As for the drink pairing, the Barolo red wine matched the savory dishes and ambiance of the night perfectly. Service-wise, our server was attentive and pleasant, although they did miss my celebration request. It was slightly disappointing, but understandable as I reserved the table through American Express rather than directly on their website. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience, with a few minor hiccups.

Indulgent teppanyaki dining at this Japanese steak house featuring exquisite Matsusaka beef. The beef was cooked to perfection and melt-in-your-mouth tender. I went with the sirloin cut because I prefer a fattier steak than the fillet. We ordered prawns and each order has two pieces. The prawns were very fresh and cooked perfectly with a hint of butter. Fresh scallops, two pieces per order, were tasty but were a little overcooked. Abalone was very tender and delicious with a hint of butter. I am glad I went with the garlic fried because it was truly yummy. The star dish to me was the caviar course. It was truly amazing. Our server spoke some English and was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant decor is upscale. I will definitely dine here next time I visit Tokyo.
