This is the first place i’ve ever reviewed on google so that should say something. Unfortunately I did not get my barber’s name but everyone cutting seemed very knowledgeable and skilled. The gentleman taking care of me was in his early 20s if curious. I figured as a tourist and foreigner, this will definitely help someone like me who needs that extra push to come by and also save yourself the trouble of combing through other different places for a stupid amount of time.
This was my first and only haircut in tokyo so I can’t speak for other places and how they compare but this was my experience:
Walk-In, no appointment made. Seated right away
Price: ended up being around a little below 50 USD. I’m used to paying $18 back home each time but DO NOT let this price deter you away, especially if it’s your first chop! I was going to cheap out at first as an instinct but decided to give this a shot as it was closer and i’m on vacation. Glad I made this choice as I definitely would’ve regretted it. I was surprised it wasn’t more, I expected my total to be a bit higher.
—- Language concerns: I speak essentially 0 japanese and managed to show pictures of my fades that I took with my stylist before I left home and some small english talk. My barber confidently executed and would also make sure a second time before doing something such as trimming, and thinning out my hair.
I usually get a haircut every week back home (USA) but this was my first one in about 2 weeks so I wouldn’t say there was much room to mess up. Got a low fade with a slight trim up top.
Razor machines were extremely smooth, i’ve never felt anything like them before, not sure if I’m just going to the wrong places or if it’s a unique thing here but that added a lot to my experience.
Front facing shampoo wash is interesting and worth a shot as well!
My barber was very delicate and smooth with the entire haircut. I’m used to seeing barbers flick their wrists and go but he was very delicate and intricate in the entire process. If there was one word to describe the entire thing, it’s just smooth. An additional person would help the barber when getting things or changing from shampooing your hair to beginning the haircut process. The razor machines as mentioned were like butter on the side of your head and the barber being extremely gentle and precise. Smooooooth.
I wish I could go again but I didn’t stay in Tokyo for an extra week unfortunately.

Read moreBearded men, beware. I grew out my beard for four months after having shaved it off for surgery. I heard that this shop does beards and has a good reputation among foreigners, so I decided to give it a try. My barber was a young woman. I showed her a picture of the style I wanted. It was a medium-length, well-trimmed beard. The barber looked at the picture, guessed the length, and—without asking me for permission—proceeded to cut off the majority of my hard-earned beard. I wasn't wearing glasses, so I didn't realize how much she had cut off until I put them on and she held up a mirror. The result was nothing like the picture. I expressed my disappointment. She apologized and only charged me for the haircut. The haircut was very good, so I can't speak too harshly about this shop. But I am very dismayed that the barber lacked the common sense not to cut off so much hair without verifying first. She clearly did not know how to trim a beard, or respect how hard it is to...
Read moreWhat a fantastic haircut and experience this place offers! Each barber is focused and highly detail oriented. I had the pleasure of being in Shinnosuke Koshiba’s hands today. He is amazing. I showed him a picture of a past cut I had gotten, and he delivered phenomenally, taking his time, as he finished with micro scissor cutting precision.
There are assistants that tended to washing/shampooing my hair, shaving my neck and hairlines, massaging my back, making sure my cape was fitted right, etc. They are also very focused and friendly.
Overall, I appreciated how they took their time to get everything absolutely correct and have me looking fresh and good. They even washed my hair once before and once after their whole process before styling with product. I’m super...
