The Tokyo cruise ship route from Asakusa to Odaiba offers a scenic and relaxing way to experience the city from the water. Departing from the historic Asakusa area, known for Senso-ji Temple, travelers can enjoy views of the traditional Tokyo skyline, including landmarks like Tokyo Skytree. The cruise then travels along the Sumida River, providing a unique perspective of the city's blend of old and new.
As it approaches Odaiba, passengers are treated to views of the iconic Rainbow Bridge, futuristic architecture, and the diverse waterfront attractions. The journey usually takes around 30 to 50 minutes, making it a convenient and leisurely activity for tourists and locals alike.
The cruise is particularly appreciated for its peaceful ambiance, especially during sunset or nighttime when the city lights up. Some cruises offer commentary or guided tours, enhancing the experience with historical and cultural insights.
Overall, the Asakusa to Odaiba cruise route is a delightful addition to any Tokyo itinerary, combining scenic beauty with a comfortable and memorable...
Read moreThis is a great way to get from Odaiba to Asakusa, taking a scenic cruise up the Sumida River. I recommend purchasing tickets online beforehand, and don't worry if the QR code doesn't show up, the ticket inspector somehow uses NFC to scan it!

Once on the boat there's a bit of a rush for seats, although they're all strange and spaced out, with most inexplicably facing inside the boat instead of at the actual views.
Some drinks (e.g. coffee) are offered onboard, and I believe there's an open air viewing platform that we didn't visit. It's a smooth and peaceful journey, worth doing just for the unique...

Then there was a short 4 minute casual walk to the mall. Staff was helpful and timely. Some folks spoke English at both the check-in near Sensoji Temple in Asakusa and on the boat. Comfortable below deck seating and optional above boat observation area where you can feel the ocean breeze was available. It was a windy day, and the boat ride was still very calm and stable, such that I was able to walk back and forth easily between our seats below deck and the observation area above deck. I think it is. a good one-time experience a nice alternative to taking the train if you are in the...
