Today's experience - walked into the one near the Republic square, the doorman welcomed me, handed the menus, seated me - and then just nothing happened, everything got stuck. The server guys kept strolling through the hall doing blind eye, none of theme bothered coming, - either to take the order, or even to advise/sell something "of the day". Spent some good 5 minutes exploring the menu, then ~10 minutes on my phone, still nothing/noone. Left then, because nobody seemed to care, and time was flying. While I was walking out, the doorman was also already missing - maybe I was in some sort of a horror movie with disappearing characters. Could it be some hidden racism - the venue advertises itself as "turkish", so maybe I was not looking Turkish enough, or Asian enough (or not "touristy" enough, or not classy enough) to be noticed and served? If so - why did they even let me in and get seated?

Read moreI couldn’t find a good place serving Turkish breakfast in Almaty, and still, I haven't found it. This steakhouse has a good interior (red candles in the bottles were interesting), but it was cold inside. The waiter was polite, the menu was well presented and prices are middle-up/high (guess so). However, their Turkish breakfast was not full as in the pictures on Instagram and I think they cheated us. We have ordered two portions of Turkish breakfast for two, but they have served us like breakfast for one person just in big tablewares/dishes. For example, there were only two pieces of each type of cheeses, five pieces of cucumber and tomato, five olives and there was only one simit bread (and they brought it only we had asked like "where is this bread as in the picture?"), and no salad parsley as in pictures again. Read moreI recently dined at Ziyafet Steakhouse, and unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. While the environment was pleasant and well-maintained, the overall service left much to be desired.
The service was noticeably slow, and the steak did not meet my expectations—it wasn’t the best in terms of taste or quality. Additionally, we had an issue when we requested to split the payment. The waiter initially refused, which caused unnecessary confusion and frustration. It wasn’t until the manager intervened that the problem was resolved. I’m not sure why such a straightforward request became an issue in the first place.
Overall, the experience didn’t leave a positive impression, and I don’t think I’ll be returning. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration to improve their service and...
