A holiday booked in Kenya via KATO website with African Memorable Safaris turned out to be shambolic. The CEO Fred Kaigua initially got involved immediately with lots of emails even out of hours during the holiday in the dispute with the AMS. He led me to believe there would be a fair process afterwards if I paid the requested balance so I did that( and subsequently spent hours writing a detailed complaint with all the evidence on my return) expecting them to give me a fair hearing via their 'Ethics Committee'. How can the park rates be increased in such a way that now many incoming guest next year are cancelling their Holidays due to this?? For example, Masaimara National reserve changed the normal duration to 12 hours and I didn't here any claim, now next year they are changing the rates from 80USD to 200 usd, the same to the other KWS for example Nairobi National park, from 43 USD to 100. Now the results that many companies are getting is that the guests are asking for the refund after getting the information through mail that they will have to pay extra and booking to Tanzania which is half amount of Kenyan holidays.
