The Loch Ness Centre it's quite touristy, but probably worth a visit anyway if you are a tourist, which we were. It is located in the very quaint, if difficult to pronounce, little town of Drumnadrochit. I recommend getting tickets in advance. You can save a little money and you can arrange for an "anytime tour" which means that you can just join whatever tour group is next in the queue. It is something like a Loch Ness Museum, but is set up as a talking and walking tour that takes you from one room to another of the Centre, each containing some artifacts and a video presentation that tells a different portion of the story abou the Loch Ness and Loch Ness monster sightings. The tour takes place in the Drumnadrochit hotel, which is where one of the first reported sightings took place, or at least it was an employee of the place. Reportedly, it was in April 1933 when a Mrs. Mackay, who was the manager of the hotel, saw something while driving back from Inverness with her husband. At least that is the story. At the end you get to vote on whether you think the Loch Ness monster exists, or whether the whole thing is nonsense, or that there are still possibilities. In our group, the majority voted in favor of nonsense. They said, however, that the overall vote tally for all visitors mostly supports people thinking there's something. Of course it is clearly all nonsense, in my strong opinion. One thing that they do make clear is that the lake has been investigated scientifically in almost every possible way, including very extensive sonar searches and DNA analysis of the water. There is zero evidence of any cryptozoological beast. Nonetheless, now that the notion exists, and is maybe the world's most famous pretend creature, it is probably worth a visit if you are in the area. Very close to Urquhart Castle. Anyway, as I said, I think the place is worth a visit. They also have touristy shops and even a tiny gin distillery to visit.

If you go to the Loch Ness area, do yourself a favor and visit the Loch Ness Centre, and pre-book a Deepscan tour. You will arrive at the Centre before your time, and the boat captain will show up with a shuttle to take you to the dock and begin the tour. Our captain had immense knowledge of the history of the Loch, the geological aspects of how it was formed, how it shapes and impacts the local weather, and of course the rumors and legends surrounding Nessie sightings. He was also extremely witty, humorous and wry, with the timing and ad-hoc verbal skills of a professional comedian or presenter, and absolutely transformed the experience. He made certain to at some point engage every single person on the tour in conversation, and if he referenced something funny regarding them he would revisit it later to humorous effect. Toward the end of the tour as we were heading back to Port, he abruptly stood up and had one of the children on the tour take over steering the boat, which surprised and thrilled them, and then he made sure all of the youths had a turn. An A+ experience, can't recommend it enough.

While on holiday to Inverness with family loch ness was a must do visit. The whole experience was great it was wheelchair friendly so our sons wheelchair had no problems going through. All the staff where very friendly and helpful which made the experience even better. Ordering the tickets on line was easy and having the option of an open entry ment we didnt have to put pressure on our son to be there for a certain time, we were able to turn up and have coffee and when our son was ready we were able to enter the experience, the staff were great and booked us in told us what to expect and where everything was. We thoroughly enjoyed it and so did our son which ment he had no meltdowns and was very comfortable. The little village just down the road is the perfect place to get a bite to eat, we were fortunate while we were there that someone was playing the bagpipes it sounded amazing.

A really enjoyable experience. Ticket prices are around £15 per adult - is that a little on the expensive side? Maybe - but I don't regret spending it. We visited as part of a weekend roadtrip up to Scotland - expecting a dusty, slightly forgotten, set of room with trinkets and the odd poster. However, we were pleasantly surprised! The exhibition is a series of room, each decorated and themed to fit with the video/information. High quality, entertaining and voiced by David Tennant - what more could you want... Perhaps a little more of the looking around and reading at your own pace would give it that last cherry on top - such as a room at the end with artifacts, art depictions, example of news cuttings etc etc... That being said - definitely worth a visit and worth the ticket cost...

Really enjoyed the Loch Ness centre visit. It’s worth noting if you book in advance you do save a bit of money as I feel in person it’s a little on the expensive side. It’s a 45 minute tour highlighting the science and effort into proving, or disproving, the existence of the Loch Ness monster. It’s highly enjoyable and I thoroughly recommend it anyone. Is the monster real? I voted for, it’s possible, yes 😂 When you finish the tour you have a nice little souvenir shop to look around in, then grab a bite to eat in the cafe in the hotel next door. Only criticism I’ve got is getting out of the car park. You have to go up a hill, avoid the back bumpers of other cars, then come round the corner of one of the shops to get back onto the road. It just seemed a weird layout in my opinion.

One for the kids (including the one inside of me!!!). Not cheap but a great whistle stop tour through the history of Nessie (real, possible or nonsense!). The tour is primarily a procession of well put together filma covering the history, science and culture behind the monster phenomenon. All takes place very close to the loch ans there are shops, ice cream and restaurant food available. The audio on one part of the tour made it hard for me to hear and it could be more interactive for the kids. That said my.boys loved the tour and have been talking about what they learnes for days. You can also book a cruise to search for Nessie on the loch using sonar. Recommend booking in advance and definitely the cruise as it was booked out when we booked the tour a day before.
