Of all the malls, this one was a a little of a shocker to me. I usually love dead malls like this and also the idea of not having to contend with the crowds is a bonus.. but honestly, the mall is really lacking footfall.. on the positive side, you are usually one of the few people perusing the shops, but then again most of the shops are closed. Aeon and Mr. DIY are clearly the anchor tenants here, which, combined with several other small shops and the eateries here, I feel is enough to cater to the needs of residents nearby. However, due to the lack of shops and even the escalators to the second floor being boarded up, results in a rather underwhelming experience. I felt like I was on a silent retreat or back in the pandemic days as I walked through the mall. On another note, I had to rush to the toilet and was surprised to find that the cubicle I went to had no lock! I went to another cubicle two stalls down and that flimsy, almost falling off lock, barely held the door shut and still had a gap in between the door even though it was shut. Then, I received another surprise to find that there was no toilet paper available in the cubicle. I went outside thinking that there was a common dispenser, but was not able to find toilet paper anywhere in the toilet! I had to leave the toilet to get some tissue paper from a family member and alost had to buy tissue paper from Mr. DIY before running back all the way to the toilet. All in all, it ended up being a very disappointing...
Read moreFirst of all, why do you name your property after a hard to pronounce word, for the sake it looks non-Anglican but more French thus giving you more class? Wrong. Let's talk about class later. "Bele" in French could read "billy" or "bell", while in English is "Bell", however I heard many drivers pronounce "belly-time" than "bell-time", unless of course the mall does it intentionally however I think it causes confusion. Now let's talk about the decor. Frankly, it's as plain as the Australian coffee, flat and white. You can't compare it to Mid-Valley Southkey or Toppen where you'll feel as sense of class immediately inside. A pity and a great paradox since Country Garden at Danga Bay sells more than a million MYR a unit, hijacks the best sea view of JB city, I expect the mall to be a lot more sophisticated. Up to yesterday, there are only ground floor and a cinema floor open. Tenants are neighbourhood oriented. The anchor tenant might very well be AEON supermarket which carries a good selection of grocery within it's rather small space. There is a chicken rice restaurant which sold out it's steamed chicken at noon time therefore I guess it must be nice somehow. The shops along the external sidewalk caters for middle to working classes and will not appeal to fashion sensitive group. Hope the mall interior will have a facelift and more interesting tenants will...
Read moreWhat an attempt to explore a new place to find an aeon mall to go, shocked to see the state of this place on a Friday evening. The emptiness is as empty as when someone leaves you hanging. The saving grace is that there is a Aeon wellness supermarket there though it’s very shabby and the products sold are quite full priced and looks old in stock. It’s generally like a fast family mart in the size of a supermarket. U don’t hope to get discounted stuff here as everything is full priced, no long queues, food section is limited. Every section is 60% smaller in size so not much variety. Strawberries are amazingly cheap here for some reason, Mr diy is small and cramp but u know u get the standard range of stuff. No bakery in this place and probably you won’t want to buy any bread. Food and beverage here have seen better days as there r no diners and all chairs are stacked preparing to stop work for the day. Very quiet place to hang and seems to have a lot of props to collaborate and interact. Though it’s quite empty and boring so the mood isn’t really there. Maybe coming here for a cinema could be an option. Tot shop sells toys that are almost 6 years old too. For me, I’m not returning back to this place any time soon, just go to tebrau for your aeon needs...
