Chanced upon this YouTiao stall (closes on Thursday) after dining nearby and seeing more than 1 person having this despite the various shops in the area not selling this youtiao. After walking around a bit, found Tyson. Bear in mind this restoran is split up by a road. So in case you don’t see the YouTiao stall, it is next to the road facing Hawk Tyres. Each piece at RM 1.70.
Update: I have come back twice since my discovery of the YouTiao stall. . I would recommend the crispy peanut pancake (1.30) and prawn noodles (8.50 small) as seen in the photo. I would not recommend the Penang Fried Kway Teow nor the Wan Tan Mee.
The more local and authentic part of Tyson is the NOT the one with the YouTiao stall. All the food recommended in this review is found in the non-YouTiao part. There are similar stalls on either parts of Tyson so it can be confusing. Just know the part favoured by the locals is the one with the Peanut Pancake, Yong Tau Fu and Nasi Lemak at the front, and Fried Kway Teow at the back.

Me and my family was having lunch one week ago and it seems like they were going to close soon, but we were not given any notice when we stepped in the restaurant and so we head to order food in the only-one-still-taking-order stall.
While waiting food to be served, staff (beverage department) cleans the floor and keep all the sitting chairs were normal thing to us, even they turned off all the ceiling fan and not allowed to order drinks all these we were acceptable since they closing soon (around 2pm).
Point is, when my food was served not than 3mins and when I fed in my mouth, one of the staff moved our table WITHOUT asking just because they want to pull down the sliding gate! Their attitude is very bad, they SHOULD ASK before moving customer’s table and this is a basic common sense in service line. They should be thankful it was me, I didn’t quarrel with ‘em but just walk away with food unfinished on the table.
PLS AVOID THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU’RE NOT...
Read moreThis coffee shop offers a variety of food stalls, serving everything from chicken rice and Chee Cheong Fun to wanton noodles and fried kway teow.
Unfortunately, the mini pancakes were a letdown. The skin was too thick, with little filling inside. I tried the red bean, peanut, and coconut flavors—while the coconut was enjoyable, the peanut was underwhelming, and the red bean paste had a sour taste that made me stop eating.
On a better note, the Chee Cheong Fun was quite good. Similar to Yong Tau Foo, you get to pick your ingredients, add a set number of Chee Cheong Fun rolls, and have everything drenched in fragrant curry.
The wanton noodles, despite looking unremarkable, were a pleasant surprise. The noodles had a nice chewiness, and the overall taste...
