Newland Hotel by Ardens - Taman Pelangi, Johor Bahru — Hotel in Johor

Booked a standard queen room last minute as my partner and I arrived JB quite late so we decided to stay overnight. Arrived at the hotel and noticed the sofas/seatings at the reception are very dusty, as if they haven't been cleaned for years. Had to wait a bit for our room to be ready. No lift so the only route to access the first floor is the stairs. On the way to our room, we saw there were many worn out/used/old items scattered on the balcony, luckily not obstructing the walkways. Upon opening the door, the room smells musty, looks old and very poorly maintained. Paint on the wall chipping off, floorings peeling off. The bathroom ceiling is mouldy and the clothes rack is rusty. Room cleanliness is horrible - dusty surfaces, strands of hair found on the pillow when none of us has lied on the bed. The drain hole in the bathroom is dirty too, saw some dirt but did not enter the bathroom to see exactly what it was (don't wanna know either). Decided it's best to leave just after checking in about 15 mins, than to risk ourselves getting bed bug/dust mite bites or any kind of infection. Barely make it as a place to stay. Facility, furnitures are all very old. The room I stayed seems like it’s been an awhile since someone last stayed in. Aircon have a very strong loudly smell when first on, took awhile for the smell to go off and it only blows in one area. Toilet floor is too slippery, elderly got to be really careful when using it. Soap and shampoo already have sediment in it. No hair drier, no dressing table. Hanger is wooden and already mouldy. There’s a gap between the wall and window. Curtain is dirty, floor is dirty, asians really cannot take it because we don’t enter our rooms with shoes on. Room is huge and spacious, but zero sound proofing. By the road, but not a lot of vehicles. With all that said, bedsheet is clean, got aircon, got provide toothpaste, toothbrush and there is breakfast provided, smooth check in and out so for a night...

very messy parking hotel. no free lot nevermind but the friday night staff gave free coupon and saturday night staff say no coupon and just brush off. they ask for your carplate to help lookout but they sitting inside so wonder do they even lookout for you. not the money but agoda says comes with free parking.

now the room to me is abit old and dirty but been here few times and the room#210 door is faulty also the bathroom door. worst is the auntie early morning 10am come to knock or even open your door wanted to clean up. disturb my family sleep. after few times experience i will not return.
