Located conveniently next to KSL shopping mall and only open on Monday evening.
Many variety of food to choose but it was really crowded and humid.
Tried the grilled pork (moo-ping, 3 for rm11) it taste normal and it was charred Kolo Mee (small rm8, big rm15) long queue but taste average too satay (1 for rm1) taste ok, nothing fancy oyster omelette (operated by the young couple) not the kinda oyster omelette I would like as usually SGās one are crispier. This oyster omelette is very oily as you can see while waiting, that the owner used a lot of oil while frying it. It has more eggs than the glutinous rice flour/starch. I waited for about 20-25 minutes for our order to be ready prawn cracker and prawn wuxiang, a lot of people queued for it too
Recommend to go early to avoid crowd as the pathway towards inside are really narrow and humid.
Would I recommend going? Yes, just to experience their night market and buy some snacks. Other than that, I think itās better to fix your dinner at JB restaurants/Zi char stall kind.
Hopefully they can try to expand...

When I usually visit JB it doesnāt feel like much of an overseas trip since itās really just cross border. However, with the addition of the visit to this night market, it certainly ticks the box of an overseas trip! (We donāt get much of this in Singapore anymore.. and they arenāt as āauthenticā and street focused too)
The muah chee here is amazing! I havenāt seen such a long queue for muah chee before and after buying it, I understand why locals, and travellers alike, are buying in upwards of 5 boxes each.. They are succulent and soft, coupled with legit grinded peanut, it is made to be the best!
The shop selling crab offers them for 9RM/100g and they are pretty good as well. Do bear in mind that the pincers arenāt fully cracked so you would have to get a crab cracker to enjoy it!
There are also many other shops selling things from clothes to fresh produce to cakes to fish and even smelly beancurd! Must visit on a Monday night if...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were in JB for a short stay. Found that this night market (pasar malam) is operating on Monday. Thus came here to explore for food and snacks.
I must say it's very long stretch from housing area until the KSL Mall. Parking at KSL Mall would be the best choice or else parking at the housing area definitely challenging.
The stalls are operated mainly by local Chinese. A lot of variety of snacks, food and drinks. But not as versatile and unique as I wish it have. Many duplication, selling similar type. Only a handful that is different eg. Sarawak Kola Mee, Nyonya Otak-otak and salted chicken. The kola Mee and Otak-otak is good. The Kulai oyster omelette is also good.
If compared to KL the most famous Taman Connaught night market, this JB one still lacking in term of creativity with trendy food and snacks. Nevertheless it's lively and still fun to explore.
Rating for:- Variety of choices - 3/5 Quality of food - 4/5 (for those that I...
