Indeed the ipoh YTF with hor fun (dried) n braised chicken legs were just fantastic tasty. But soup very salty!
The home cooked food are just yummy n the brijau is cooked such that it is comfortingly soft!!
The young man - CK (the business owner) at the counter was super attentive in taking my order including recommending their signature items
Even with tapau back to Singapore, The hor fun tasted so good n well balanced with the right ratio of sauce of sauce n paste n chili. There were some self made YTF such as the crispy tofu skin n a few other items. I paid only about rm39 for one person portion. Incredible price!!
This shop was discovered by chance when I was at Shell petrol station n this shop is just directly opposite. I will visit this place again n try the laksa! they operate from 830am to 530pm.
Their rest day is every last Tuesday and Wednesday of the month!
Just outside the main street fronting the Shell station, there were several make shift stalls n several caught my attention like fried oyster (from rm15 onwards), fried CKT (starting from rm9 for small portion), satay n nasi leak. These stalls operate from 6pm onwards to late nights. Very nostalgic street hawker. If stomach not strong, it maybe good to give these a miss.
JB has too much to offer. Nearby, there is a hawker alley but stalls operate mainly in the morning only. Barely anyone stalls were open when I was there in the early afternoon.
Update as of 26 may 2025: There are 3 make shift durian stalls n I ate at the first one. Ordered almost 2 kg of super rajah old tree selling at RM88 per kg. Just so so taste n nothing...
Read moreIf you’re craving Ipoh-style comfort food but haven’t been to Ipoh itself, this spot delivers. Their curry mee is creamy and fragrant, with a gentle spice that tingles without overwhelming—no watery shortcuts here, just a broth that tastes like it’s been layered with care.
The real stars are the stuffed tofu, eggplant, bittergourd. Unlike the dry, crumbly versions I’ve tried elsewhere, the filling here stays moist and springy. Each piece is fried to perfection: crispy on the outside, tender vegetables inside, and zero greasiness. Even the bittergourd—a vegetable I usually avoid—works surprisingly well.
The soup base is not bland; —you can taste the hours of simmering, like someone’s auntie hovered over the pot all morning.
No frills, no hype—just hearty, nostalgic flavors that’ll make you feel like you’ve stumbled into a ipoh...
Read moreI went to this restaurant to try out authentic Ipoh food with my friend. I must say I was quite impressed with both the food and milk tea. The menu offers a great variety of noodles, and Yong Tau Fu made with fresh ingredients. I like the signature curry soup bihun mee!! It was cooked to perfection and bursting with authentic taste.
Their milk tea, it’s hands down one of the best I’ve had. Creamy, smooth, and just the right level of sweetness, it paired the meal perfectly.
The atmosphere is nicely renovated, and the owner was very friendly and attentive to approach us, making the entire dining experience even better. Deserved ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars review. Highly...
