Great place to eat if you're from around Bukit Jalil. But otherwise, it's a little far out for the experience offered.
Highlights of the place includes a very beautifully decorated interior. If you're cafehopping for the gram, I do recommend a visit and you won't be disappointed. Secondly the interiors feel absolutely comfortable unlike a lot of other sprouting new cafes these days that can be purely aesthetics but have very uncomfortable seating arrangements. So an extra plus point for them!
Another great thing about this place would be their dessert cakes. They offer unusual cakes which you won't find anywhere else. This visit I had only tried out the Purple Potato cake however their selection actually makes me want to be back for more. The Purple Potato cake is pretty unique and not what I would actually expect from... something that's made with potato? Haha. Each layer individually tastes different but it goes best when you eat all the layers together. It has a citrusy tanginess, cheesecake richness, potato sweetness and then a slightly salty oreo-like cookie base. Balanced in flavour and unique. Some of their drinks selection are also nice.
So what caused a 3-star? Honestly I would want to give it a 3.5 because it is above average but at the same time not yet a 4-5 star because the overall experience just lacks something.
When it comes to the main rice sets, that is where it all feels like it fell short and left the experience feeling incomplete. It's still an averagely good meal. But it just didn't have that same creativity and perfectionism that was seen in its interior design and the cake recipes.
I understand that the theme here is towards homecooked-style meals (which I think is GREAT). But the dishes are just overly simple. Things you can easily find in any mix rice stall. That would still be alright if the execution had been significantly better. However the taste is very similar as well (especially considering the growing segment in franchised mix rice shops and the competitive offerings they have).
The control of "fire", choice of seasoning (aside from MSG and salt which I agree should be reduced in a home style cooking) and the freshness of ingredient (especially apparent in the prawns) leaves the meals feeling a little lackluster for the price point. I think a great point of reference of good home style cooking with a higher price point would be Alison Soup or Medifood set meals. Hope this suggestion could be of help to the team at Yuan to understand what needs to be improved.
Location of the place is pretty far out in Bukit Jalil. It's almost on the fringe, very close by to Puncak Jalil. The Earth is a commercial area there, not exactly highly populated with shops but the parking in the area is obviously underprovided with only legal parkings provided on one side of each road (you will see that the other side gets occupied by illegal parking). Not too sure about the security of the area because the surroundings are not directly accessible with low visibility into the roads of The Earth due to land height differences. And some shops we walked pass had obvious scattering of trash around the front of the premise. Upon entering the building itself, it is best to take the lift because we made the mistake of attempting to climb (3rd floor from the ground) and on the 1st and 2nd floor, there was no light at all. We were climbing upstairs in absolute darkness 😂 Hope the building management can do something about that because it could be pretty dangerous in the event of a lift malfunction and everyone needs to...

In the first visit, I was having second thoughts based on the limited review & rating. Furthermore, the signboards aren’t obvious and they are located on 3rd floor of the very quiet shop lots.
However, my doubts immediately dissipated once I was greeted by full house of guest nestled in a Scandinavian themed design restaurant.
The dishes served have all not only met but also exceeded my expectations of any Taiwanese home cooked food offered by any restaurant in the 3km radius of Bukit Jalil.
Today is my second visit after 48 hours. This says a lot about their...
Read more“Mixed rice” style of meals - fish, chicken set with a side of vege and soup. The taste was ok, it is comforting sort of meal for those who like rice, a side of protein and soup - but I will not go for the sweet and sour fish because it’s very thinly sliced and fried. So all I could taste is the fried batter. The coffee was good and there’s a wide selection of cakes but I didn’t get to try. I will come back to try the cakes because sitting area is comfy and serene - very good for those who need a quiet space to work after peak hours. Parking is somewhat an issue during peak hour so I recommend coming in between 2-5pm or...
