Bali Residences by Stayrene — Attraction in Malacca

Bad experience, not coming back.

Informed the hosts that I will be arriving late. Collected the access card and door entry chip at the post box.

Failed Access Thereafter having unload all belongings including the baby's, we went off to the unit. Arriving at the unit, the chip failed after multiple continuous tries. Tried all doors nearby and the sang the same failed tune. And this is at 3.00am and we tried for 30 minutes. Meanwhile we called the 2 emergency numbers provided but no one picked up be it on Whatsapp or direct line. Imagine the panic that we have, stranded in the middle of the night with a baby with us. Near 3.30 someone finally replied but went silent when asked for a name. A door passcode was finally provided and we managed to gain entry. The other person responded on Whatsapp only at 5+ in the morning.

Cleanliness Spotted a lizard and its droppings by the bed, and the sheets are stained? Too tired and too late for any complaints, we just clean up as quickly as we can, caught the lizard and sent it outside then we went to bed. The aircon took ages to cool down the room even at 17 degrees.

The next morning we spotted cockroaches around the toilet and kitchen, these elusive insects are hidden everywhere and we would find one every now and then. There is even one which came out from the microwave as I was about to heat up some food. I don't even know if my food is contaminated.

Fridge issue When we arrived that night, we stored all the baby's medication in the fridge, it wasn't cold and we didn't think much of it, probably it would take some time to cool down after we went in. By the morning the fridge remain warm and we were worried that the medication would be affected thus kept it out in the living area with the fan and aircond on. The freezer part was unaffected. Informed the host and they sent someone over to repair which does nothing. Reported the second time, still nothing changed till the day we left.

All these and we still have to deposit RM200 which we got back in full but only near midnight. By all means, the tenants should be the one receiving a deposit and it will be paid back if the place is satisfactory.

Reported to Agoda, they could do nothing as the host refused compensation. Not a tinge of regret nor any...

Highly recommended hotel!

The room was great, equipped with a hairdryer, iron, washing machine, TV with Netflix, and a beautiful balcony view. It also had two large beds, an induction cooker, microwave, and refrigerator. The hotel offers excellent facilities, including a family-friendly swimming pool. The host was very kind and quick to respond. I accidentally left my phone and couldn’t access the room, but they quickly helped me resolve the issue. Although it was pricey for just one night, the ease of communication with the host from booking to checkout made it worth it. I will definitely return in the future.

The apartment is amazing. Very spacious, very cozy. The location on google map is not exactly accurate, it is on the other side of the road. This place is near many eateries, 7-11 and confectionary. The groundfloor has a convenience shop and a family play area that open at night with arcade, pool table, darts and some food.

The con i can think of will be water heater that needs some time to warm up and the water pressure from the showerhead can be stronger.

Another con will be the lift, at times, you can wait for quite long for the lift to come. During checkout, many people will take lift as well, making the situation worse as lift will keep stopping despite being full.
