Joining the eagle feeding + fireflies + blue tears with Sky Mirror World travel agency is a highlight of my Malaysia trip. They really did their best. Vivian (the owner?) helped me with passion for the whole trip. Just contact them by phone or WhatsApp. The boatman uncle (his name is Liang Ya?) is an extraordinary person, willing to take an extra mile for the customers. The ship is clean and comfortable.
Eagle Feeding: amazing! seeing hundreds of eagles and other birds flying so near is a spectacular experience. Also, the boat uncle was sooo willing to give the best to us. He gives each side of the ship enough chance to get the best position to see the eagle. After feed the eagles, as the sunset is covered by thick cloud, he drive the ship onward to get a much better angle for photo! Our ship is the first one to arrive and, perhaps, the last one to leave.
Fireflies: romantic and calming. I hv never seen so many fireflies, just like natural christmas trees. Some of them just enter thr ship, attracted by the light. Boat uncle helps to catch some fireflies n put them into our hands:)
Blue tears: I glad I took it! At first I was a bit hestitated to join, after readings that the best time is on 1st-3rd days of lunar calendar. But I just gave a try. And.... I glad I did it. It is a rare natural phenomena to see a kind of microorganism that glow in the dark with blue light when it got moved, just like "fire flies in the water". Each of us were given a stick with net to move the water so the microorganisms glow. We can also catch some of them with the nets. For some people, perhaps blue tears is not as exciting as, eagle feeding. But if you are a nature lover like me, don't miss it! It is the highlight of the whole journey, and not in every place that you can find it.
I forgot to bring mosquito repellent, but the repellent they sold is stronger than those bought outside. Not even one mosquito bit me!
Cons': boat uncle's English is a bit limited. But for daily conversation and announcements, he can make it.
Tips: order the ticket online from their website and...
Read moreWe booked the package for sky mirror, eagle feeding, fireflies & blue tears. Sky mirror: basically a 15-20 mins boat ride to middle of the sea, need to wait for the tide to recede before we unboarded for photo session. The time of tide receding varied so that affected the jetty boarding time & we had to wait in the boat for 30-45 mins when we reached the destination before it's safe to go down. Make sure you empty your bladder & don't drink too much before boarding. We're lucky to witness some dolphins during the wait. It's already a nice experience to be standing in the middle of the sea, & of course the photos were great. Will be better if u already have some poses in mind although the photographer will guide u. Take note that they use your own camera so bringing a smartphone with good camera will be handy. Weather is an important factor here so be prepared for any unexpected change/cancellation.
Eagle feeding, fireflies & blue tears (evening): It's already 3pm plus when we reached the jetty after the sky mirror so we only had time for a quick bath & meal before coming to jetty again for the next tour. The evening boat ride & the view are good enough for me, of course it's good to view the eagles & fireflies (I thought the fireflies population had dwindled alot & didn't expect much, but still quite alot of them around - be prepared for mosquitoes as well!) Blue tears are basically an activity where you scooped the blue algae with a net to enhance the bluish glow.
Overall, i thought it's a good tour, well organized. I also like the fact that the tour guide enforced the life jacket rule for everyone. If you're planning a trip to Kuala Selangor, can consider engaging this tour group. The activities are suitable for kids too. Just set your expectations right - it depends on the weather & you're not here to see some spectacular view; just enjoy the boat ride & company with...

Our family recently had the incredible opportunity to visit the Sky Mirror World Tour in Malaysia, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. This hidden gem is truly a natural wonder and a must-visit for anyone traveling to Malaysia.
From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the scenic beauty and the unique charm of this natural phenomenon. The Sky Mirror itself, often referred to as Malaysia’s “Salar de Uyuni,” lived up to its reputation. The shallow, mirror-like waters created perfect reflections of the sky and everything around us. It felt surreal to stand amidst such pristine beauty, with endless blue skies meeting the horizon in an extraordinary display.
What made this experience even more special was the outstanding service provided by Ms. Phua, who guided us throughout the tour. She was warm, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure our family had a great time. Her energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and she took the time to help us capture the perfect photos at the Sky Mirror. Thanks to her, we now have some stunning memories to treasure forever.
Ms. Phua’s attention to detail was impeccable. She explained the science behind the Sky Mirror and made the experience both educational and fun. She also shared tips on poses and angles to maximize the mirror effect, and we had a blast experimenting with creative shots.
This experience was more than just a tour; it was a journey filled with wonder, laughter, and connection. Our kids were absolutely thrilled, and we, as parents, felt rejuvenated
We wholeheartedly recommend the Sky...
