Price: donation-based, no recommended amount, but give what you can. The owner is friendly and gives a personal touch to the visit, which feels more intimate than the high-budget Malta Heritage attractions.

No need to book in advance but note the short opening hours.
And yes, there are two caves under homes within 400 meters of each other with a similar story. Not sure if the area has more undiscovered ones?
A suggestion is to sit both of them during the same visit in Ix-Xahdra where one of the megalithic temples is located as well. Ninu's cave is on the way while walking from Ggantija to Xero's Grotto and possibly eventually towards Victoria down the (very)...
Read moreThis little cave is one of the oddest sights on Gozo. You ring a bell next to an average door on a quiet residential street and a little old lady appears from next door and ushers you through the hallway of her family's home and down some stairs into a cave her husband's grandfather found below the house in 1888.
The whole thing has been left pretty much as it was found (apart from installing some electric lighting), so you just stand at one end of the cave and look through at all the stalagmites and stalactites. The cave apparently extends a long way back but isn't all visible.
There's not a huge amount to see, but if you're in the area it's well worth the recommended donation of 2 euros for this...

The old lady was very nice and told us the story of the cave but some tourists went in ahead of us and she charged them 5 euro. She thought I was a tourist and I started talking Maltese and she said 2 euro for me. And honestly, it's still not even worth that. The cave is the size of a small bedroom. You can look at everything twice and spend 30 seconds in there. Again, lady is nice and the story is cool but really nothing to look...
