Casa de los Alcatraces Cancun — Attraction in Cancún

After being robbed of all our belongings at the 5+ Excellence Riviera hotel, We had no choice but to go to down town to stay for the rest of our holiday. We searched every hotel in the area and came across some right [--] holes. This by far is the best that you will get in Down Town. Trust me. The rooms are very clean, telly has lots of channels, there is a fridge with drinks and snacks, and a safe. There is also air con which is the only hotel in down town that has it. The staff dont speak good english but are very friendly. When our room was cleaned the maids even folded my clothes and hung them up. The hotel over looks a school and a market which is open of an evening. The noise is very quiet. On Saturdays a parade goes on. Possibly millitary?? There are lots of shops and resturants close by including burger king, macdonalds and a supermarket, and internet shops. We where the only english tourists in down town. But we where safer there than in our 5!!! This was the 3rd hotel in down town that we stayed in by far the best. I actually would recomend going to this hotel and for the memories I would come back here. There are also bus routes that take you to the hotel zone and beach a D10 bus. very cheap compared to taxi. Great value for money and close to the town centre for lots of street food, markets and taquerias. The room was nice and had a small kitchenette and very good wifi, however it was not very clean. There were marks on the bedsheets, the drain in the shower was partially blocked and the sink wasn’t very clean. We didn’t ask for it to be recleaned as we arrived quite late however staff were very helpful so it is likely they would have sorted this is asked. It is a new hotel , witch is nice. The Staff has no education how to deal with customers, and zero hotel experience. Next door is a cheap hostel what plays music very loud hole night long until 5 am so you can not sleep there. Staff wants Cash only, there was also sometimes loud music in reception read all other reviews (Expedia) is my advice, so you know it is not one disappointed guest, there are better...
