It's NOT A SAFE PLACE. I stayed last night in the private room which is in the other building. At 3 am there was two guys FIGHTING in the bathroom, one trying to RAPE the other guy. I heard the sound of punches in the face and horrible screams for help. I was alone in the room scared to death. I called the reception number that I found on their facebook page few times and noone was replying. It's impossible to contact them in case of emergency at night. One of the guys was not even a hostel guest as it turned out later. Seems like anyone from the street can enter or other person can bring whoever to the hostel. Some half an hour later police came. They left around 4 am. I heard people talking downstairs and as I assumed the situation calmed down I went downstairs. One guy had his face massacred. They kicked out both guys, told me to close the door. It normally is open all night, just the garden door closed. The bathroom was full of blood stains. Needless to say I was too scared to sleep or go out of the room or even to go to the bathroom till the sunrise. I asked for the money back because I didn't feel I was safe and they just left the bathroom full of blood, they cleaned it hours later after I complained. The owner said it's not possible because I stayed in the room the rest of the night. She was quite arrogant and seemed no to recognize the gravity of the situation that I went through.||It was WORST EXPERIENCE ever. I was fearing...
Read moreI was assaulted by the staff at the reception desk after I was told I had to leave for "suspected" drug use(I asked the staff what drug I was using and the staff could not even tell me the name of the drug). The staff wanted me to pay for six nights remaining that I would not be staying for because they were kicking me out for absolutely no reason. Obviously, I continually refused to pay for the six nights remaining. Then a staff member jumped on my back and I threw him to the ground; then literally 10-15 people started attacking me; one person stuck out his middle knuckle and punched me directly in the eye while there were at least three people holding and/or kicking each of my limbs(I was mostly focused on the person that I threw to the ground who I was putting my weight on underneath me who was trying to choke me out and trying to crank my neck. After a little hospital trip for my eye, I immediately returned to the hostel and found out the staff had taken my passport from my room which had been missing for two days(I asked for my "ID" while I was only expecting them to have my US state ID which I did give them at check-in which they also had) and of course, the receptionist tried to argue that I did give them both my passport and state ID at check-in which would have left me without any identification... It's the first fight I've ever lost you if you put being assaulted by 10-15 people in the...
Read moreMan, talk about a great hostel. The guys behind this place really know what makes for a fun time. Such a great atmosphere and wonderful craft beer bar at night. Live music and table games when I was there. Tired of the standard 'breakfast' you get of butter and toast at other hostels? The woman who cooks here does something special every day. The kitchen smelled amazing. The rooms are super clean with great A/C so the rooms don't get that usual mildew/funk in other hostels. And even with the nighttime party music, the rooms were quiet enough to sleep. I know they have aspirations of one day being able to cater to the upscale 'digital nomad' crowd - and I certainly believe they might be able to one day - while the wifi was certainly fast enough to take care of business, the place was lacking of 'comfortable' working conditions. Mainly just a few benches and tables that would be fine for an hour or two of email work, but not for a full day of coding. But for now, this place is perfect for any digital nomad, or other traveler, that is looking to break away from the normal grind and come chill with some...
