We did have some expectations comg here and we're somewhat disappointed. I specifically booked a larger room, only to find out that the increase in size was only due to a large terrace while the room was quite small. As we needed to work, we hoped for a larger room to spread out.... The room itself was shabby chic, but very low quality....for $250 I expect a bit more than "rustic" furniture and a tiny bathroom. The AC hardly managed either. The hotel website shows a pool, that is unusable due to "permits". We would have lived to jump in and specifically booked this hotel as they showed a pool. Breakfast was fine though charging for am extra slice of ham is nickel-and-diming at its best. Service is ok. The security staff is aggressive and borderline unfriendly to guests. Every single time someone asked us whether we wanted to have drinks at the terrace even though they have seen us multiple times coming in and out. This hotel is (so-so) style over substance at inflated prices. Won't be back....

Ensaladada de Salmoñ was 195 peso and pathetic to the point that both sister and I were left having order more food. It had 4 ingredients that were no joke 95% lettuce/arugula. This photo shows the plate exactly as it arrived. I will update after dinner concludes. Edits: other dinners can smoke in the dinning area with total impunity. Do not come here if you are like me and sensitive. The mango muse is gross. Basically for the pace extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. Slow service with items of out order completely missing. Inconsistent lighting to boot. I did not stay at the hotel so no comment about it other the private outdoor area for the guests there.

A perfect fusion of a colonial townhouse and a beautifully designed, state-of-the-art boutique hotel. Superfriendly staff, excellent breakfast. Prestine location right in the middle of everything (with so much Oaxaca city life around the hotel, one should not be hypersensitive to noise). The restaurant as well as the suites have AMAZING views of Iglesia de Santo Domingo de GuzmĂĄn, the city and the surrunding mountains. Plus: The best restaurant in town is just next door: Pitiona (make sure to reserve ahead of time). I had planned to stay just one night at the Hotel Los Amantes, but ended up changing my itiniary, so I could stay two!

There is no good reason to stay here - the bar and view is cool but not dissimilar to many Oaxaca rooftop bars. But as a hotel goes, that isn’t exactly cheap, it has no good points. Should have read the reviews, they’re all to be believed - I’m generally not a grumbler but it was our honeymoon and felt like I had to post this.

For a hotel - where people pay to sleep - the noise is crazy: it has a bar, which isn’t uncommon for hotels, and they offer ear plugs etc. Doors to hallways are completely unsealed and (as well as letting light in) provide no barrier to hallway/bar noise and music Rooms are basically in the bar/restaurant with no separation Windows are completely unsealed (perhaps a 10mm gap between sliding panes), so noise from the street and neighbouring bars comes straight in I suppose all of that comes under the caveat of it being a bar - but power tools/construction work during the night was just nuts and happened 2 out of 3 nights The metal stairwell going top to bottom is basically a xylophone ringing out through the joint

Service is terrible 10 day cancellation policy is understandable but frustratingly implemented and bad for changing travel plans - we wanted to start the stay a day later and they insisted we’d have to cancel our full stay, concede 50% of that cost rather than just one night, and rebook completely Multiple times we asked for drinking water or a second coffee cup and nothing ever turned up The wait at breakfast to get served or sign the bill was painful every day

It’s plain chaos one day during peak breakfast service they decided to start moving huge kitchen equipment down the staircase Every time I came in the door they forgot who I was and tried to get me to come in for a drink Hot water was a bit shaky A random dog appeared on our 1st floor balcony area to go to the toilet Finish on the rooms hides behind a ‘shabby-chic’ vibe (e.g. shower door wouldn’t close, gaps in ceiling have dust coming through, barn door across outside of window instead of blinds/curtains means you have to shift it to get...

BE AWARE:|We booked this hotel for our honeymoon and it was the biggest mistake.|From the time we checked in, I saw the red flags. |First they gave us a different room than we originally booked. Receptionist kept saying it was similar because our specific room was already booked. |We didn’t have cash because we arrived late (needed to exchange money) and could not tip the luggage guy so he got upset. |The sheets were stained, fortunately I reported as we did the walkthrough. However, sheets were not replaced.|They said there was a jacuzzi but was not working but had no access.|Shower and toilet. A nightmare. Shower is very slippery. Who uses title for a shower? Soap+water+title flooring!! We had to use minimal soap and placed towels because it was slippery. Electrical cords hanging in the shower ceiling? That’s a first. The toilet. Just horrible. No privacy whatsoever. For a romantic night, make sure you don’t need to use the toilet. My wife and I had to literally leave the room if we wanted to use the toilet because can hear and see. Why? Because is not an actual door, is a divider attached to a door frame.|We tried talking to the manager. Adriana Quintana. Refused to talk to us, all the receptionists just pointed fingers at each other. We paid in full and when we checked out, we were asked to paid another cleaning fee but in cash. No receipt or form. Straight up asked to 500 pesos cash for “additional cleaning”.|Also, the WiFi is very slow. |In my own experience they took advantage of us from the beginning. |I regret staying here. Don’t trust Tik-Tok or social media. That’s how we found this hotel. |I think they pay some or most of these “influencers” to give you a pretty picture of the hotel. However, the actual experience was not pleasant. |Also I went to their website and the photos of the rooms are a mix of all the hotel rooms. Our room had some photos of the actual room, but half of the other photos were from a different room. |Not a 5 star hotel |Not worth...

Don’t trust this property when it comes to booking. I made a reservation about a year in advance put a deposit down for this property when booking and I was supposed to pay the remaining balance at the property the day of the stay. well in about 4 months from me making the reservation the whole amount was withdrawn from my account which was no problem cause I was staying at the property anyway and never thought nothing of it. About 2 days before staying at this property something told me call the property to verify my reservation well come to find out the property cancelled my reservation 2 days before the money was withdrawn which did not make any sense why would they cancel my reservation and then charge me the whole amount and come to find out the property claimed they don’t have any record of them withdrawing the whole amount and it was clearly shown on my statement. So disappointed we’ve planned this for a whole year with flights paid and everything. I had to cancel my vacation to this place they also did not help me in trying to resolve my refund. So I don’t recommend this place at all. Moral of the story if you had the money withdrawn from your account for this property make sure you call them frequently to confirm your reservation till the last day don’t trust...
