Los Andantes Terraza — Restaurant in Oaxaca

My wife and I ate dinner here the evening of Valentine’s Day and aren’t inclined to return. The view of the Santo Domingo cathedral is impressive. The wine selection is very limited, typical of most Oaxaca restaurants, and glasses of red wine are served freezing cold. At the start, the service was good. One of us ordered salmon (very good); and the other shrimp in a coconut coating. Two of the six shrimp were too tough to eat. However, the salad that came with the meals was very good. Towards the end of our meal a large party came and was seated next to us. The waiter then came to me and asked me something I couldn’t understand. (I speak Spanish, but I’m hard of hearing, and the music was loud.) I asked him to please repeat himself, but he walked away. A server who was with him, made a gesture,, as if to apologize. We were still drinking our wine, but the check was brought to us, without our asking. Shortly afterwards another server asked me if we were leaving! No one came to clear our empty plates, however. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Oaxaca with the iconic Santo Domingo Church as a backdrop. The setting was absolutely beautiful, and the restaurant was decorated so thoughtfully that it felt like something out of a dream.
