This review is based on the experience my 13-year-old son had getting his septum pierced — his first major body modification — and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide or artist for this milestone. (The shop did ask us to bring in documentation)

His studio was immaculate, relaxed, and welcoming — with a thoughtful vibe that put both my son and me immediately at ease.

Ezara took the time to walk my son through every step of the process. He explained what he was going to do, why he was doing it that way, and how the piercing would be placed for both aesthetics and healing. He treated my son with respect — never talking down to him, and always making sure he felt informed, comfortable, and empowered in the process.

Because we were staying in Tulum for an extended period and my son wanted to swim freely in the Caribbean Sea, cenotes, and pools, the shop advised us to schedule the piercing closer to our departure date to avoid complications during the initial healing phase. That kind of honesty and thoughtfulness is rare — he wasn’t in a rush to sell us something; he wanted the experience to be right.

We scheduled our appointment in advance by placing a $500 MXN deposit, which was applied toward the total piercing cost. When we returned a few days later for the appointment, we paid the remaining $300 MXN after the piercing was completed — a very fair price for the level of service and safety provided.

The piercing was done with silver-toned titanium jewelry, which is hypoallergenic, biocompatible, and safe for sensitive skin — Ezara even offered to change the tone to gold using his autoclave for an additional $100 MXN, allowing for personalization without sacrificing sterility or healing integrity.

His technique was smooth, fast, and nearly painless. My son said it was much easier than he expected — no pinching, no drama, just a quick and precise experience. Afterward, Ezara gave us clear and easy-to-follow aftercare instructions, including what products to use and avoid, how to gently clean the area, and how to manage any sensitivity during the early healing phase. As a parent, this level of detail and care made a world of difference.

What I didn’t expect — but deeply appreciated — was learning about Ezara’s background as a fine artist and painter, which clearly informs his approach to every piercing and tattoo. He doesn’t just perform a service; he curates a meaningful body art experience. The shop itself was spotless, very comfortable, and had a great vibe. During the session, the artist was professional, made sure I was comfortable, and explained each step. Omg! I cannot say enough about how amazing these folks are. I must speak about Marco Bury. He is truly a gifted artist. I went to them a couple days after we arrived in Tulum. I wanted to build on a piece on my right shoulder where I have an old piece. I got the opportunity to speak with him that day so he looked at what I had and said maybe we could do an octopus. That wasn't something I'd considered but started looking at ideas.

The day before we left, I met with Marco. We talked a bit then he got to work drawing. Lemme say, his creativity is mind boggling! After about 2 hours, he'd finished drawing and then to the ink. He was kind and patient. I'm not usually jumpy but I had a real hard time laying on my side while he was working. He did everything he could to make me more comfortable until we got to a position where I had more control of my body 😂😂😂😂😂.

The final piece speaks for itself. I had asked for something to compliment the 2 pieces on my left arm. He surpassed anything I could have imagined .
