This is a beautiful, unique hotel a perfect walking distance from downtown and the beach. The mattresses - very important to me - are high-quality, firm, and smooth, so we slept comfortably. (Although, like most places, the neighborhood roosters still woke us up early.) The design in the rooms has particularly well-crafted, beautiful woodwork and photography on the walls.
Breakfast is included. For us, it was three light courses of freshly made bread and guava jam, tropical fruit yogurt parfait, and an omlette, with coffee and juice, with the huge windows open and strange birds being entertaining in the trees in the courtyard. A fantastic last breakfast of our trip here.
The only reason I'm not doing five stars is that the bathroom has an unfortunate design flaw. The shower and toilet are partitioned without their own ceilings, which looks very stylish until you want to use a toilet without anyone hearing you - and for tourists, what your companion might hear might have more flourish than normal. Not a problem if you're traveling alone, but definitely not romantic for couples. We made a joke of it by inviting each other to enjoy the courtyard for a moment, right outside the door, but that doesn't work in the middle...
Read moreI loved this hotel. The location was perfect, off the main street but a very easy walk to all the restaurants and the beach. The staff was ultra accommodating, especially Rebecca. She made substitutions for my gluten allergy without any fuss. ||My room was delightful right off the poolside - I would only suggest they replace the white towels which were very worn. It was quiet and comfortable with excellent water pressure in the shower and sink. They provided all the soaps and hair and body products. I brought in my own water because the filtered water in Mexico didn't taste right to me. ||The breakfasts were great, filling, and innovative. A special treat. I highly recommend two particular restaurants - In Hotel Cielo Rojo, only serving dinner on Th-Sun I believe but it was one of the best meals in all of Mexico I had on my two week trip. They make their own tequila! And, Mau the owner of Su Pancho Madre makes a great variety of sopas, and gluten free morning pastries. Plus they sell their killer chile/peanut sauce which I brought back. More on them in another review.||Lastly, do yourself the kindness of patronizing ARA (the pink and white curtains) for an open air beach massage. Ask...
Read moreConfortable rooms, got the pelícano room in the second floor and it had a very nice tall sealing. Everything is small in this hotel, but enough. If you are going with a significant other be ready to hear every noice from the restroom since it is just separated with a glass door from the main bedroom. Breakfast was amazing, filled with little details and always a bit different than the day before, local, fresh, and suficient. There is no parking so you'll have to park outside. The hotel is about 6 blocks from the beach, it is not much but if you are carrying chairs and cooler it may get anoying after few days. The hotels lends you umbrellas but no towels, they won't allow you taking the room towels, these are pool only. Wierd request from the front desk to leave the key with them every time you get out. I would...
