Kotor Old Town is a charming medieval gem nestled along Montenegro’s stunning coastline. Wandering through its narrow cobblestone streets, you’ll be surrounded by well-preserved historic buildings, ancient churches, and Venetian-style architecture that transports you back in time. The town is enclosed by impressive fortress walls, and climbing them offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Kotor.
Located just a five-minute walk from Kotor Bus Station, the old town is easily accessible. If you’re driving, parking near the bus station is convenient. To fully enjoy the experience, visit early in the morning when the streets are quiet, allowing for perfect photo opportunities without crowds. By midday, the town gets packed with tourists, making it harder to explore comfortably.
Souvenir shopping here is a delight, with local shops offering handmade crafts, jewelry, and traditional items at reasonable prices. The old town also boasts excellent restaurants serving fresh seafood, Montenegrin specialties, and international cuisine—most accept card payments, which is convenient.
One of the most endearing features of Kotor is its many stray cats, lazily lounging in sunlit corners or darting through alleyways, adding to the town’s whimsical charm. Whether you’re a history lover, a foodie, or just seeking picturesque scenery, Kotor Old Town is a must-visit...
