Everything - except for the beautiful location - is going wrong in this restaurant! But let's start from the beginning... We came here because there was a vegan menu, so I ordered the vegan burger, and my friends got a regular burger and pasta. I asked again what was on the burger, but the (at least friendly) waiter didn't seem to know. So, I decided to take the surprise. What arrived was an old burger bun with a pre-made soy patty and a lettuce leaf. No sauce, no tomato, nothing. It also came with a small handful of fries. We complained that there were no tomatoes or sauce on the burger, and it went back to the kitchen. When it returned, there was a little bite of red sauce on it and a cherry tomato cut into 4 small pieces!? WHAT!? It started to become funny. The "regular" burger wasn't any different. The portion was tiny and looked more pathetic than anything you'd get at McDonald's. It's worth noting that each burger cost almost €11. The tuna pasta consisted of cream with a tiny piece of tuna, completely unseasoned. Parmesan was only provided upon request (even though it was on the menu). But what surprised us the most was the staff's reaction. We spoke to several waiters until the manager finally came. He asked, "Finished?" and looked at our plates. We said yes. He turned around and walked away without a word. WHAT!? Later, when another waiter took our plates, we asked for the manager again to understand, what is going wrong here. He explained to us that the outdoor area was very busy, so the chef couldn't focus on our food (we were sitting in the small court). When we tried to explain that this was not an acceptable excuse, he told us that he had managed several restaurants in Norway (...NO WAY!?) and was very experienced in the restaurant business. No sorry, no discount, no nothing! In the end, we paid over €50 for 3 meals that weren't even worth €15. As a highlight, we met the owner of the restaurant at the very end: He asked how we liked it and we calmly explained our dissatisfaction, and his response was: Sorry, but we are out of...
Read moreAlthough I enjoyed the talks with the staff and they’re nice and welcoming, I can’t give many stars.
First, this place is in city centre of kotor so of course a very tiny (and slim) pizza is 12 euros at least.
I received my pizza and wasn’t sure about the cheese. I asked if for sure is vegan and they assured me yes.
After some bites, I looked at my friend non vegan pizza and saw the exact same Parmesan. I asked again if it’s vegan. He asked the chef and assured me it is. After few seconds they said it’s not vegan and they will do again a new one for me.
Of course I was asked if it’s allergy or a choice. I think these questions are irrelevant especially when he kind of implied that it’s not a real allergy (although I’ve been vegan 10 years so I’ll get food poisoning from cheese at least).
So yeah, I’m not sure what to say about this restaurant. Again, really lovely people working there, they do have one page with vegan food for “marketing” of course, but I don’t think they treat veganism serious.
I could write much more but yeah, I guess if you’re really hungry you have to go here as they do have almond milk and other stuff, but it’s not 100% safe for vegans.
I cannot imagine ordering VEGAN pizza and I still have to be paranoia about cheese. It’s sad.
They’re from Türkiye. I’m wondering how would they feel to be served piggy 🐷 . And not to mention my reason for not eating cheese is ethical, not biblical
So yes, I had to write this review, otherwise this mistake can happen again. Don’t forget ethics are more important than spirituality which is sometimes enforced, not conscious
Basil pizza was with Parmesan and the non basil one was...
Read moreI wanted to love this place and was unable to. I arrived early in the afternoon (I am solo traveller and do not like to take-up a table when it is busy). All of the waitstaff were gathered just inside the bar area eating and chatting and they were more interested in each other than they were in customers. There was a table with 2 people seated to my right and myself and yet we couldn't get one of them to turn around and pay attention. They chatted, laughed with each other and ignored us.I had to wait 10 minutes for a bottle of water and it was delivered only after I reminded them that I had ordered it! Then, having their attention, ordered a cocktail and again had to wait and again remind them that I had ordered it. The cocktail came after the salad! It would have been nice to sip on the drink while soaking-up the ambiance. The salad was not fresh and the grated cheese atop it was old and tasteless as was the gelatinous balsamic vinagar. Do NOT waste our time or money here as the waiters are clearly there for their socialization and this is a...
