Port of Kotor - A Stunning Maritime Gateway Read for directions and tips: 👉🏻

The Port of Kotor serves as the perfect launch point for exploring the breathtaking Boka Bay, with its dazzling blue waters and incredible coastal scenery. From here, you can enjoy wonderful boat tours that take you around the bay's islands, to the mesmerizing Blue Cave, and other scenic spots.

Getting There: The port is easily accessible - if driving, you can park near Kotor's main bus station (Autobuska Stanica) and take a pleasant 10-minute stroll along the waterfront to reach the port area, marked by large docked ships. Regular buses connect Kotor to all major Montenegrin destinations.

Booking Recommendations: At the port, you'll find many boat operators offering tours, but prices tend to be higher when booked on the spot. For better deals (often 30-40% cheaper), book online in advance through platforms like GetYourGuide. That said, having some extra cash can be useful as you might find negotiable last-minute offers for private tours or upgraded packages.

Tour Highlights: Most boat excursions include a stop at the famous Our Lady of the Rocks, an artificial island with a picturesque church. You'll typically get about 20 minutes to explore - enough time to visit the small museum, admire the votive offerings, and even dip your feet in the refreshing sea. Other popular stops include Mamula Island and the stunning Blue Cave, where you can swim in the glowing azure waters.

Helpful Tips: Morning tours tend to be less crowded Bring swimwear, sunscreen and a towel if you want to swim in blue caves Wear comfortable shoes for island exploring Check weather forecasts as tours may cancel in rough seas

It is definitely a beaitiful port. There are restaurant and shops by the port and more shops within 5 minute walk. I got me a fridge magnet for 3 Euros. Lots to see but again for me, I have limited time. I went to the old city center, you just need to go through the underpass. In the old city, there are lots of souvenir shops and restaurants. There are also several churches and at least I saw 2 museums, the cat museum and the maritime museum. I did not go to the maritime museum because they were charging 6 Euros per person and the cat musuem I did not check because I was already on the rush going back to the ship. The cat museum seems intersting though, also the churches and you can view these churches on my other reviews. Several shops does not accept credit card payment so make sure to bring your cash. Some shops accept dollars but they do not give you a fair rate so better bring Euro currency. I will definitely go out again on this port if I...

Breathtaking views at every hour ⛵🌅 The Port of Kotor offers postcard-perfect views, especially during sunset. Calm waters, majestic yachts, and the mountains in the background create a magical atmosphere. Whether you’re arriving by boat or just strolling by, it’s one of the most peaceful spots in town. Easy to walk around, clean, and surrounded by lovely cafes and historical charm. Ideal for a slow morning coffee or an evening photo session. No crowds, no rush – just serenity.

The Port of Kotor is absolutely stunning—surrounded by dramatic mountains and crystal-clear water, the views are breathtaking from every angle. Arriving by sea feels like sailing into a hidden fjord. The old town is just steps away, full of charm and history. It’s a perfect mix of natural beauty and cultural interest. Whether you’re on a cruise or exploring independently, the scenery alone makes it unforgettable. Easily one of the most picturesque ports I’ve ever visited.
