Citadela Restaurant — Restaurant in Kotor

Here is an honest review: we didn’t check the restaurant’s previous reviews. We chose it because of the location, which is beautiful — with a great view of the sea and the mountains surrounding Kotor. The waiter was friendly and professional, to begin with. After taking each person’s order, one person at the table changed their mind and wanted to switch their dish, while the waiter was still taking orders from the rest of the group. The waiter explained that it was already too late, as he had already registered the order. Strange, to say the least.

The biggest disappointment was the food. None of the dishes we ordered were particularly good. We were a group of eight people, each ordering different meals. At best, the food was mediocre.

Finally, when we asked for the bill, the waiter insisted that we should leave a 10% tip. Of course, leaving a tip is not a problem, but it should come from the customer’s own desire if they are satisfied with the food and service — not as a forced demand from the waiter.

Even though the good was good, the servicié was terrible, he came hundred times asking if I wanted something to drink (because of my surgery, I can’t drink while I’m eating) and me communicating that I didn’t want anything to drink he was pushy saying that in his culture people order things to drink, and over and over repeating it.that made me eat all anxious and at the end he didn’t give me the change of what I paid and when I asked for it he said it was the10% for tips, so I asked him “where is that written?” He said “on the receipt “ and I said “can I have the receipt please of what I just paid” and he said “no, this new machine doesn’t print then, in my culture we leave tips “ to what I answered “in my culture too, if they actually deserve it” which was obviously not the case…

So now I think he was just lying about it, either way, it should be stated on the menu if...

We were there in the evening and it was very beautiful! The view was amazing and our waitress was a lovely and kind woman! The food was very good and the drinks were nice. You get an appetiser before your meal which was delicious. Even though the food and view was amazing, we left with a sour taste in our mouths… One of the employees was throwing rocks at a kitten to get it to go away. The kitten was not in the restaurant, but was climbing on the wall of some stairs, bothering no one, waiting for its mother to return. The mother was getting food from some of the dinner guests. When I confronted the hostess and asked if the guy was throwing rocks at the poor kitten, she lied and said that he only threw paper. The sound from the “paper” hitting the rocky walls seemed a lot like rocks to me but how...
