Few facts about the Lady of the Rocks (Our Lady of the Rocks) in Montenegro:

Artificial Island: The Lady of the Rocks is located on a small, artificial island in the Bay of Kotor, near Perast. According to legend, the island was created by local seamen who, after finding an icon of the Virgin Mary on a rock in the sea in 1452, began dropping rocks at the site after each successful voyage. This custom continues today during the "Fašinada" event, held every July 22nd.

Beautiful Church: The Church of Our Lady of the Rocks, built in 1632 and remodeled in 1722, is the island's main attraction. Inside, you’ll find a stunning collection of paintings by Baroque artist Tripo Kokolja, as well as a beautiful altar and silver votive tablets donated by sailors.

Museum: Next to the church is a small museum where visitors can explore various artifacts related to the maritime history of Perast, as well as gifts offered to the Virgin Mary by grateful sailors.

Scenic Views: The island offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Kotor and the surrounding mountains, making it a perfect spot for photos and peaceful reflection.

Accessible by Boat: The island is only accessible by boat, and various operators offer trips from Perast for around €5 to €10, depending on your...

We visited Our Lady of the Rocks while visiting Perast. We took a water taxi from there across which was €5 for the return journey and we were given 35 mins for our stay. It's such a fascinating little place with stunning views of the Kotor Bay area. The chapel is small and unfortunately we didn't get a chance to go inside as there was a large party that arrived just before us so there was a queue to enter. There was a €3 entrance fee to go inside. We wandered around the small island and thoroughly enjoyed it even though we didn't get inside the chapel. We asked about the other island & we were lucky that our taxi driver took us around St George's island which isn't the normal route. This island isn't open to the public. Definitely...
